Minecraft What part of 1.8 are you most excited about?

As far as I'm aware, they weren't actually implementing the optimizations until the release of 1.8. Or, at the least, they aren't complete in the snapshots.

They were implemented in like 14w29 or something, then optimised to support older hardware in 14w30. Unless they're going to be optimised for a second time, it's what's gonna be in the final release of 1.8.

 

Well, the question is, where are you getting that 100-200 FPS?
Because obviously, if you're getting that in the J&H lobby, it's going to have much higher FPS than a normal singleplayer world because the J&H lobby is mostly void.
However, I do agree, the optimizations don't seem to be providing what they promised yet, not by a long shot.

Villagers can farm your crops for you.
Dogs attack skeletons
other mobs run away from igniting creepers

Eula. Not really 1.8, but that's what I will associate it with.

New villager AI thing-of-sorts
The speculated addition of namechanging.
