Hello, I am Witha a moderator on the server. I have played this server for awhile. I have seen so many lovely players on this server that speak Turkish. I am sad that there is this barrier block. I want to be able to help you guys just as much as I can help the players who speak English. Now to reach my goal I am going to need to learn some Turkish. So here is where you all come in I want you guys to respond with words or phrases that I should know to help you guys on the server! I will have @Yupac translate this below @Yupac bunu alt'da çevirecek Merhabalar, ben Witha, sunucuda Moderatorüm.
I will try to write down everything you need to know and send it to you over discord. And thank you for trying to learn Turkish for Turkish players, that is so sweet! (@Turrtles this reminds me of my sister trying to teach you Turkish lol)
I would rather you respond here instead of discord incase any other staff would Like to know keywords.
Okay so first of all, warning: Turkish is so damn confusing so I'm sure that it will end up you giving up but fine :d So I'll write down some really common and basic Turkish phrases that may help you So let's start with these confusing ones: ( sa - as ) ----------- Sa / Selamunaleyküm: It's actually an Arabic greeting (although the pronunciation is very turkicisied) so since there are so many Muslims in Turkey, we also use that greeting very often. In my opinion, it's a kinda old fashioned way of greeting someone. Basically, we use it as Hello/Hi. I don't know the exact meaning of this word though since I don't know Arabic. And probably most of the Turkish people don't know either lol we just use it as Hello (just checked the meaning from an online arabic dictionary so according to that it means "peace be upon you") As / Aleykümselam: So Aleykümselam is the answer to Selamünaleyküm. Okay, let's get into the actual Turkish ones :D These are the greetings you may use: Merhaba! = Hello! Selam! = Hi! Hoşgeldin! = Welcome Hoşbulduk! = Pleased to be here ( this is only used to respond to Hoşgeldin) Üzgünüm = Sorry Problem yok = No problem Nasılsın? = How are you? Ya sen? = And you? Naber? = What's up? Nasıl gidiyor? = How is it going? İyiyim, teşekkür ederim = I'm fine, thanks İyi değilim = I'm not well Üzgünüm = I'm sad / I'm upset (This one is also used to say Sorry) Yorgunum = I'm tired Sıkıldım = I'm bored Teşekkür ederim = Thank you Teşekkürler = Thanks Rica ederim = You're welcome Görüşürüz! = See you later Hoşçakal! = Goodbye Gitmek zorundayım = Gotta go Hemen geri gelcem = I'll be right back Sonra geri gelcem = I'll be back later Günaydın = Good morning Tünaydın = Good afternoon İyi geceler = Good night Prompts Bu ne kadar? = How much is this? "...." satan var mı = Does anyone sell "..." Affedersiniz = Excuse me Fiyati biraz indirebilir misiniz? = Can you reduce the price a bit? "..." satın alıyorum = Buying "..." Introduce İsmin ne? = What's your name? Benim ismim "Witha" = My name is "Witha" İngilizce / Türkçe konuşuyor musun? = Do you speak English / Turkish Biraz = Just a little Kaç yaşındasın? = How old are you? 16 yaşındayım. = I'm 16 years old Nerelisin? = Where are you from? Amerikalıyım / Kanadalıyım / İngilizim / Avustralyalıyım = I'm American / I'm Canadian / I'm British / I'm a strong kangaroo Tanıştığıma memnun oldum = Nice to meet you Türkçe zor bir dil = Turkish is a difficult language. Türkçeyi seviyorum = I like Turkish --------------------------------------------------------- If people come up to you with hard phrases or if they think you're fluent in Turkish Türkçem kötü = My Turkish is bad / poor O kadar Türkçe bilmiyorum = I don't know Turkish that much Ana dilim türkçe değil = Turkish is not my main language Sadece bir kaç kalıp biliyorum = I only know a few phrases Daha yeni Türkçe öğrenmeye başladım = I just started learning Turkish "Hello" türkçe nasıl söylenir? = How do you say "Hello" in Turkish? "Merhaba" ingilizcesi ne? = What does Merhaba mean in English? Okay thats it lmao i got bored and gotta join to my online class, i guess i pretty much gave most of the useful phrases but it would be good if someone added the phrases i forgot. I didnt add the ones you would ask while dealing with staff stuff, purposefully. Cuz I know there are already some dictionaries our Turkish staff members made you can check.
