I guess I should have my say somehow.. I'm only going to concentrate on the one thing that makes me extremely happy and that's Gay marriage being legalised. It wasn't long ago that the UK and Ireland legalised it themselves, and to now hear that the USA have done the same. It's amazing. Now onto the other shiz. Sure, it's becoming a better place, and there will always be the few flaws in society that will bring us down, but some things just put a smile on someone's face, and that's the true meaning of a calm society. This is proof of a big step. Like Jerry said, it's now one in 20 children that die before the age of 5. That means, 19 children a day, get to know that they'll be able to grow up. Another thing that I'll quickly say about is life expectancy going up. Wow. It means that some people, if they're lucky, will be able to see their Great grand children grow up just a little bit. It's amazing that science and nature can produce such a phenomenon. Some of this may not make sense but I'm too happy to check.
It was only Ireland. The UK except Northern Ireland has legalized it for a long time now. Now, I don't agree the world is becoming a better place. I'm SO happy you used only American statistics, while not considering most other statistics in other countries. I think the world will only become better once all countries have control of themselves (in our case, eradication of corruption). Only destruction of several factors will make the world better. One small step is important but not enough. I sound idealistic now, but I believe it is also reality.
Lol, that's only in the US because of your corrupt justice system and poor education system (excluding your universities). This post is about the world... mmkay? More and more people are getting proper education, and children get to live longer. You do realize the US is only 4% of the world's population?
There's been certainly some good conversation on this forum lately Personally, I think the world is neutral, like @Yomc said, as an issue is fixed, new problems arise. Relative to population, the amount of bad and good things has been relatively the same, and really depends on the perspective if the affected groups.
Tbh the world wasn't a good place or anything interesting to begin with, But I agree. It's hard to believe that they were arguing about the validity of gay marriage but it was okay if assholes put eyelashes on their car's headlights What I don't understand is why are the teachers not allowed to hurt students but they don't care about kids violently bullying other kids? Should've been the first thing they took care of.
Well I disagree there is so much crime , Prison escapees, Hit and runs, shootings. I live In the northeast so crime is bad af
