I'm so sorry for the wait. I had a bunch of AP testing that was stressing me out. Returning Characters: @nala, @Xeno, @TwageTomato, @_ItsHappy, @Kazuke, @LouiseXminerX, @Radii, @TheBlackHamood Chapter 16: Into The ForestThe day started out as normal in the beginning with Kat's pancakes. The guy with the black scarf and cape had a happy face on as he consumed the pancakes; it looked like mine when I had them for the first time. We all forgot what happened the night before, until nala pounded the table with her fist. "Well, finish up, you guys. We got a big day ahead of us! But first, let's give a round of applause for our newest member, Hamood." nala said as we all clapped for him. "Aww, shucks. This is sorta embarrassing. I think we should hurry up and get out of here to defeat Radii." he said. "Righto. Let's get going. We need the surprise attack on her. We need to detain her and have Kono absorb her power before she can even realize that we're present." nala said, "This is going to be really hard. It's a good thing Radii doesn't have any power that allows her to see with spatial awareness. She can only see with her mi- oh, this is gonna be harder than I thought. Umm, you know how Radii has an army? Well, she has probably dispersed them all over the forest, mountains, and even Alem. I'm surprised how the humans are able to capture the witches and bring them down. Anyway, that's the basis of the plan. We need to get to the surface and cross into Alem, into the woods, and onto the mountains. It's been a while since I've made this trek." The nine of us walked out of the mansion-like building into the air bubble that surrounded it. We approached the air bubble's protection line and nala stepped into the water. Unsurprisingly, she was able to breathe underwater. She gestured the water around her to seethe into part of the air bubble to surround all of us. Hamood stood in awe at the first time he's seeing her power. He was surprised at the thickness and stability of our bubble as it rose to the surface. We could tell it was rising because the water got a lighter shade of blue as time passed. We finally saw a light and the bubble carried us to the surface and to the beach successfully. "Alright. We need to get moving. The witches move at night and so does Radii. It looks like it's high-noon right now. The humans of this realm are nocturnal to hunt witches down, so we need to move into Alem and get to the other side of town as quickly and quietly as possible." nala said. "Or we could just, you know." Hamood said. "I agree." Kazuke said as he grabbed Louise and Xeno by their clothes and flew over the town. Hamood thrust his cloak over the rest of us and I felt something that I haven't felt since I got to Alem. The next thing I knew, we were all in front of a forest with very tall trees and I couldn't see Alem until I turned around. "What the hell was that?" Twage asked. "Shadow-warping" I said. "Huh. How'd you know?" Hamood said. "I don't know. A friend I knew could do that but I can't remember his name or what he looked like." I replied. After a few seconds, Louise jumped in with, "Well, let's get into the forest, shall we?" "Yes, let's do that." Kat said as we started walking into the woods. When we got to the clear and obvious entrance of the woods, however, there was a barrier that knocked nala and Twage backwards. We stopped, looking very confused. "Dammit, she must have another psychic on her side now. If only we coul-, wait, how are you all on the other side?" Twage asked. "Umm," Xeno said while pointing to himself, "telekinesis, bro." "Alright I'm not gonna even ask. These are really dark woods with a really dark history. Let's get in and out as fast as we can." Twage said as we all agreed. We got into the dense and dark forest where it was very- I guess- dense and dark. We could see a clear path ahead but something seemed very wrong. As we approached the light at the opposite end of the forest, I heard voices. "Do any of you hear that?" I asked. "Hear what?" nala asked. "It's probably the rustling of leaves." Twage said. "No, she's right." Kat said, "I sense their presence and they're gonna ambush us in 3, 2, 1, YOU GUYS CAN COME OUT NOW! WE KINDA WANT EXPERIENCE POINTS FROM YOU WEAKLINGS!" In response to Kat's yelling, a grand total of 0 people came out. "Xeno," Kat said, "just. You know." Xeno thrust his hands out and found every living thing in the forest, good and evil, and brought all of them in front of us. The evil witches looked very surprised to be there and came at us instantly. "Let's kill them." Louise said while charging at one of the six. The thugs laughed until Louise grew three feet and trampled the one she was running towards. "We probably should. They kinda've seen us already." nala said as she tried locating a source of water. "Alright." Kazuke said while tearing a witch's head from the body. "Hey, the bodies are decomposing faster than normal bodies." Kaz pointed out. "Oh boy. They're probably humanoid incarnations of evil that were made by Radii." nala pointed out. Kat, Twage, and Hamood took care of three more of the witches while I absorbed a pyromancer's ability. Louise then knocked the useless corpse out. "You sure you won't get sick again?" Louise asked. "Hopefully not. I'll just release it now. Let's have fun!" I said while shooting a fireball containing contaminated abilities at a tree. The tree burst into flame and the flame spread to the other parts of the forest. "Are you an idiot?!" Hamood yelled, "Let's get out of here!" We all ran for the light at the end of the forest tunnel. It was too late, however. At the end of the tunnel, we heard a cackling laughter that could only be one person. "Welcome, sis." Radii said while clapping her hands in glee, "Thank you so much for bringing more soldiers." Thanks for reading! Please leave feedback and comments below, and I'll probably post a sneak peek at Bargaining next time, hopefully. With that, if you want to be in the next story, please leave something down below. I'm probably going to use the same thread unlike last time, so I'll change the name and the chapter number system.
For a moment I forgot this thread still existed. Sorry, I was practicing piano a lot recently. and I mean a lot. Anyway, I hope to write the sneak peek and the next chapter after this message. I guess this is a little update in my life. I'm sorry. I just thought no one really appreciated or looked at this thread anymore. Oh, won't you look at that. 500th message woot! SneakPeek: BargainingWhy is my life so unfortunate?! Every single time, I wake up in some weird place and either get welcomed or chased. Was I stabbed or was I captured? I don't know. I don't even know if I'm still alive like last time. Do I wake up in Alem again? or do I wake up in Denpe and this was all a dream? I'm so conflicted. What am I doing? I feel like I already died, but at the same time I don't. Why am I not waking up? All I can see is darkness. Wait, I feel something now. Is this what resurrection feels like? I can feel my fingers and toes. I can feel myself lying on something. And what do you know? My eyes are closed. Let's open them. "Hey! Watch out, loser!" That's all I hear when I open my eyes. I look around and find myself on some grass with a ball next to me. It just looked like your average, ordinary, rubber red ball. I then see a boy walking towards me and he yelled, "Oi! Stop being worthless and toss me the ball!" "You don't have to be so mean!" I yelled back. "What did you say to me?" the boy said. "Nothing. I'm sorry." I said while tossing the ball to him. He walks back to where he came from with a scorn on his face. "So," I thought, "this is level 3, huh?"
Returning Characters: @nala, @Xeno, @TwageTomato, @_ItsHappy, @Kazuke, @LouiseXminerX, @Radii, @TheBlackHamood Chapter 17: EnterRadii"Wow, so many!" Radii said in glee, "Hmm, let's count: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, and you, my dear." She flew over to nala and held her right finger out to her chin and tilted nala's head upwards, like any villain would. She turned her back towards us and walked towards the mountain. "Hey! Where are you goi-" Kazuke stopped mid-sentence while Radii turned back to us, and then she walked towards Kaz. "I thought I would let you off with a warning," Radii said, "but I guess I was wrong." She grabbed Kazuke's neck and a purple fluid coursed through his arteries towards his head. "Kaz!" Kat screamed while running towards him. "Don't worry about him." Radii scowled, "He'll come to in a few minutes as one of my slaves." "You," I said. "Yes? What are you going to do? I can just put you and her under my control within a heartbeat." Radii said, "I already have both of you in my memory pool already, so why don't you join me?" "Why the hell are you doing this, sis?" nala interrupted, "Why are you gathering all these magicians under your control for the purpose of destroying the human population?" "Heh, do you really think I want to destroy humanity? They leave me no choice but to. You've seen what happened to me in the schoolyard. I was banished to here!" Radii said in tears, "Back in Alem, why did they just force me here after I just found out about my ability? I didn't know I had it, yet they forced me here. You know what. I don't want to fight you. I never want to fight you. You can take me down all you want, but I'm never going to fight you. I just ask you stay out of my way. Here's a little offering. I'm going now." Radii ran off into the forest where we came from while her followers leaned in on her. Kazuke started to sit up with Kat near his side, making sure he was healthy. "nala," Louise asked, "what was that all about?" "I guess another truth needs to come out." nala said, "When you look at me, how old do you think I am?" "Umm, you look like you're 14 or 15." Xeno answered. "Haha, well, I'm actually hundreds of years old and Radii is too. She was born first. We were born to a farmer couple in Alem and when it was time to go to school, we would walk for a long time to get to the mid-town of Alem. You see, this forest used to be part of Alem but was since overgrown due to the growth of witch territory in present times. This was our home. Human territory used to be much bigger back then. Humans and witches used to work together to create buildings and tools. Anyway, when Radii was around 13, she developed her power. I was around 10 at the time, and she controlled one of her classmates without realizing it. Her teacher realized it was Radii who was controlling the classmate because of the mark on her shoulder. No one liked her after that. She was bullied and tormented. She became secluded from the rest of the family and started thinking about suicide often. Then came the day the mayor of Alem knocked on our door. The mayor wanted to talk with Radii so he took her to the town center, and that was the last time I saw her. Our family looked for days, weeks, months, and years, and we couldn't find her. I developed my power in the next years and I heard accounts of more missing warlocks. When I was 20, a full-scale attack was made and human territory shrunk into the sad heap it is today." nala explained. Thanks for reading! I'm glad that at least some people care that these are written. There'll be more to come. I edited my previous post in order to fit the sneak peek in. Hope you like it! If you want to reprise in Bargaining, please pm me or leave something down below. For now, it's summertime, or winter for those in the south hemisphere, so go nuts!
Yay! More back story! Really nice plot development kono. This has all the earmarks of a possible novel.
The sneak peek's up there in the first of my double-post. I edited it in because I wanted to work on both of them at the same time. Anyway, it doesn't look so good for the story as to inclusion of characters for the next story. So please, if you want to be in the next story, I'll talk to you, or I'll just put this entire story on hiatus. Returning Characters: @nala, @Xeno, @TwageTomato, @_ItsHappy, @Kazuke, @LouiseXminerX, @Radii, @TheBlackHamood Chapter 18: VoidsIs this what a void feels like? Being trapped and unable to move for such a long time? Please don't tell me she's controlling me. What's that white light, by the way? The last thing I remember is nala's long anecdote about her life with Radii. Did I just blink and lose consciousness? I can still hear my friends, though. How does this work? "So what are you going to do about it?" Hamood asked, "Is this the end? Are we just gonna mope around till daylight comes? Now that I understand the truth, do I stay or do I go? nala, because of you I'm fully able to understand these magic powers we have. I'm not going to take a silence for an answer. Lead us!" Hamood slapped nala in an attempt to wake her from her trance. "What am I supposed to do? I don't want to fight her and she doesn't want to fight me either. I don't want to even look her in the eyes. I don't know what's on her mind." nala said. "Hey, umm, nala. If Radii was banished to the mountain, did you just flee to the ocean with Twage?" Xeno asked. "Yes. That's what we did." Twage answered, "We tried to take as many refugees with us, as well as any witches who were willing to come with us, but we really weren't trusted at all. We should really fight her though. nala, if you wan-" "I'm going." nala interrupted, "We stick with our original plan, but Kono? Kono!" I didn't answer. I couldn't answer. I was stuck in the void. "Hey, what's she writing?" Kat asked. "Uhh Kono's male you know. Has been all this time." nala said. "Whatever! Wake up!" Kat yelled. I felt something slap me and heard it loud and clear. I opened my eyes and I could see my friends crowd around me. "Hey, you alright? You look sort of dazed." Kaz said. "Yah, I'm fine. What was I writing? I could only hear what you guys said and I couldn't see anything." I said. "Well, looks like a journal or a diary of some sort." Twage said, "You've been keeping track of your daily activity." "What?! That's crazy!" I yelled as I nabbed my journal back from Twage and looked in it. He was right. I didn't write in the thing since the mishap with Kat, but there's been an entry for every single day in my handwriting. "This is so freaky. I haven't written in here for days. Do I jus-" "Yep." Louise said, "It looks like you've subconsciously written in here. The moon's pretty full out right now and it's pretty high up there. You must write into the dead of night." I look in awe at what I've written into the journal. I had no idea that I did all of this. "You okay? If you've heard us, you know what to do right?" nala asked. "Yes, I do. Let's get into that forest. Alem's probably on fire right now. We need to hurry." I said. Into the woods and out of the woods and all before dawn. The town was on fire and the humans were scattered. Most were kneeling while bodies were tossed into the flame. Radii was the one being honored. She looked different from when she left the forest. She had a headpiece on with two spikes coming out of it; she looked like a devil. She held her scepter in her left hand and demanded the humans' attention. "Radii!" nala yelled. "Well, there goes your element of surprise." Radii said, "Are you really going to get in my way again, little sis?" nala nodded to her sister's question. We all looked at each other with a face that said, "We're screwed." "Alright then. I'll give you the handicap. After all, the pawns always go first in chess." Radii said. At her command, the eight of us were surrounded by dark elementals and witches. We could no longer see Radii after a few minutes because of the density. The last thing we saw from her was a deep stare that was looking for blood. Thanks for reading! Please leave requests to be in the next story down below! I really want to continue this story, and all I really know is that the people who are in the story right now aren't on as much anymore, so I'm glad those who are reading this actually care.
I thought you stopped making chapters, but I'm so relieved your still writing some! Keep up the awesome work Kono! Can't wait what will happen next :)
You know, I just realized how I visualized the last part from last chapter is exactly the same as a part of Avengers: Age of Ultron. F*** my subconscious mind. Returning Characters: @nala, @Xeno, @TwageTomato, @_ItsHappy, @Kazuke, @LouiseXminerX, @Radii, @TheBlackHamood Chapter 19: Shades"nala, Xeno, can't you control them? Like throw them around a little bit? I mean, they do have water or are made out of matter, right? What's with that face?!" Twage asked. "W- we can't! They don't have any water, nor are they matter!" Xeno yelled with nala's disappointed face next to him. "Really, sis? Where're the magicians you stole from me? The ones you brainwashed after they followed you?!" nala yelled. "Well, that's them. You see, I was able to find ways to make ordinary people or even witches into shades. I'll give you a hint. Each shade has a certain weakness and they can only be hit by that weakness, and how many are there? Like 314? Good luck." Radii cackled behind her army of darkness. "What the heck is she talking about?!" Kazuke asked. "Fire, water, earth, wind, light, and darkness. Those six are the most basic elements of wizardry. How will we hit each of them with six shots at a time?!" Twage yelled. "We could use him." Louise said while eyeing at me. She was already in her demon form. She looked much bigger than when we had to battle Kat. "No, we need the element of surprise on her." Kat said. "Surprised she can't hear us in here even though we can hear her from here." I whispered to Louise. "Xeno, let me borrow that for a while, actually. Hope she doesn't see this." "What'd you-?!" "Oh, I see a pyromancer's on the loose!" Radii yelled with glee. I leaped up onto Louise's back and jumped off it whilst launching fireballs onto 157 of the shades. Hamood joined in and breathed fire onto the other half of the shades. 260 "We won't let them show us up right, Xeno?!" "Aye, aye!" Xeno cried. nala becked the oceans to her call while Xeno purified the salt water. At the time, nala grabbed Xeno to the outside of the ring and then blasted the ring of shades with the pure water. 210 "Are you ready, Kaz?!" "I'm always ready, why do you ask?" Kaz replied. With Twage, Kaz, Louise, and Kat left inside the ring, Twage lifted the earth out of the ground, trapping them inside. Kazuke flew to the top of the ring of earth and, like a cyclone, blasted the ring of earth away. Earth and wind combined blasted the leftover risen that plagued the good witches. 96 "Louise!" Kat yelled. "I'll just destroy them myself!" she said with a sword made out of pure light in one hand and a fist with a dark aura surrounding it. She vaporized the remaining shades with light and darkness combined. Regardless of the sound, Radii still tended to her bowing humans while we were able to creep up behind her. To the humans that could see us, we gave a hand-signal of silence, making sure we could pull off what we were attempting to do. Thanks for reading! Please leave feedback and comments down below! I'm hoping I can get back in the spirit of writing these things because Denial was better than this. I hope I can do better with Bargaining as this story comes to a close.
*massive tidal wave crashes behind her and large sections of earth are ripped from the surface and blown to bits* Radii is not amused.
Jinx! Ok last chapter :P Ya, Bargaining's taking a little longer for me to think of plot concepts, but it's either I create a fictional world or I set it in a place that's already been created. Returning Characters: @nala, @Xeno, @TwageTomato, @_ItsHappy (Kat), @Kazuke, @LouiseXminerX, @Radii, @TheBlackHamood, @SerenadeOfStorms Chapter 20: Wit'sEnd"Yes! Bow down to me, you filthy pigs! That's what all humans basically are! You don't worship one united thing and you all are just driven by greed! Furthermore, you all stink!" crackled Radii, "There's only one reason you all are just fighting with each other; you don't have a purpose! Among us here, I am a god to you all! I'll crush any opposition, right here, right now! Now kneel!" "I don't think it's right!" a voice yelled out. "Hmm? And who are you?" Radii inquired, "No one dares speak against me! I commend you for that." "Well, 'No one' will be on his way now, if madame's cool with it." "Leave." "Alright. I'll be on my way then." The mysterious man took his large backpack and walking cane and traveled towards the ocean. "Now, is there anyone else?" The humans did as Radii said. They knelt while we snuck up behind Radii. "nala?" I whispered, "Why can't she hear this obvious noise?" "She spends most of her energy focusing on controlling her subjects." nala said. "Wouldn't she had noticed 314 of her soldiers missing?" Twage asked. "I don't know, but we should just keep it down." nala said. "What the heck?! You guys already defeated them all?! Hmm, no holding back then." Radii yelled. "So won't we. LOUISE!" her sister yelled. As Radii held up her hands to attempt her omnipotent magic, Louise grabbed me with her huge demon hands and threw me at Radii. I held my hands to Radii while focusing on her magic matrix. Radii had her signature dark and purple aura emanating from her hands, and looked like she was ready to aim it at all of us, but it was too late for her. I grabbed her hands and absorbed her power. "Yes! You did it!" Kat screamed. "Alright!" Hamood said, "Wait, are you alright out the-?!" Hamood's sentence cut off for me. I was quivering, and it was really cold. I know I had Radii's power. I saw it get into my system, but I also saw her smile. It wasn't a smile you'd see on a birthday kid's face. It was a smile of power and promise: a smile of darkness and despair. As far as I could hear from all the screams, I was shaking on the ground. Radii was curled up on it as well. I feel it now. The power Radii had was more than just a power, it was also a poison. That one night with Kat, that dark aura I absorbed corrupted me. This is the full power of it. One by one, I hear the screams of my friends as they get absorbed by the influence Radii's enhanced power brought. It was quite fascinating, actually. It was like this power was supposed to be in my hands, and it's just controlling me. I can't feel anything. I can only feel the hatred of how everyone must feel. I'm like a beacon of unrest, just emanating these waves of brain-controlling signals. And then it came. I could no longer see. My vision blurred out and my hearing did as well. I lost the signals to my brain and I just felt like a floating spirit. I wonder, is this really death? "You've met a terrible fate, haven't you?" And this so concludes this story! I'm going with my original plan of creating a new thread for Bargaining. Anyway, thanks for reading, and please leave feedback and comments down below! It isn't too late to sign up for the next story, so please. Do ask to get in the next story!
Well. That was quite climatic. I'm still trying to pick out the reason for Kono's odd reincarnation occurrences. I don't see enough clues in the story to formulate a clear hypothesis yet. Of course, the question remains: "Konohito, is there supposed to be an overarching storyline behind these stories?" At this point, you could probably shoehorn any plotline you want in to the stories to explain Kono's many lives.
