What I meant by "Better for the server", was allowing the staff to actual do their jobs. It may not be an immediate change to what you want to see done, but you can't expect things to happen immediately. Things take time, and such statement is especially true with this server. Survival took time, right? Staff promotions did, and still do take time, correct?

Btw, the quote, as well as the large letters in my previous reply, were merely to express a point more prominently. Not meant as an insult. I apologize if it was taken that way.

Not everyone is the same. Some people can handle it, and just pretend it isn't happening. Others have more trouble with this.

It is more based on how you try to deal with it. It's like how one would act to getting teased at school; some would ignore it, others would confront it, and a few may even pick the fight. We all deal with things differently in life.

Well...see, the commands they are given stop the problem at hand, not the problem as a whole.
If one want's the problem to (hopefully) stop completely, they have to make a public statement. A lot of people don't get the point from a single warning, or a few temp-bans. The commands they are given are only able to do so much.

I think we should bring back /mods

Because sometimes I have a question and I cannot find staff online, so this will help.

You can just make an AFK staff member's name in red...

This is getting to be very interesting but wayward.

There are staff guidelines, so most staff follow as close as possible. Different staff members don't make completely different responses to situations, and they definitely have a similar mindset.

So basically, people cry staff abuse and are butthurt every time a staff member makes a comment with slight attitude. Let's not forget the constant opposition we endure from the same people all the time. As much as staff members are role models, it doesn't give anyone an excuse to strafe from the lines, and there are people that tend to make comments with attitude, hate, and uninformed details.

"Don't go around saying that, it is rude, especially for a staff member"

So you're a mod on a different server. You should know what shaming staff publicly is. As much as I couldn't care for what you said about my attitude, I felt the need to point out the hypocrisy in that statement. If you had a problem with what I said, you could have easily private messaged me, reported my comment, or reported me in the staff abuse section. Simple as that. It is clear we both took the wrong means, and I will admit my comment was wrong. I apologize @PresidentBacon

Also, I am extremely sick of this constant defense that members use against staff members. Just because we are staff and are supposed to be role models, doesn't mean you guys can make comments with flame and attitude at us, either indirect or direct. You hide behind the status of a normal member, basically crossing the lines without punishment, while staff can't take much action publicly or in general due to risk of "staff abuse" or "not being a good role model." This was brought up in a past thread when it came to harassment of other members, but clearly some people didn't get the message and took it higher levels.

There are clearly trolls out there trying to make points about hating the server because staff is corrupt, unorganized, unfair, or no freedom of speech. If these people stopped being butt hurt about staff decisions and focused on playing on the server or the social aspect of the forums, they would be fine. They say they hate it here, and they hate Minecraft. So why are they here? To try to stir up drama, sulk, and make comments regarding how unfair they think the rules are. Why do others listen to them? Maybe because they are butthurt about not getting promoted or because they have been directly affected by staff decisions, which they think are unfair because they don't see the staff side of things. They are clearly not here to help anyone or contribute to all of your fun, so stop feeding them.

People harass us just like normal members are harassed. Normal members report it, and people are given warning points. Staff aren't gods, right? So the same actions should be taken to people who harass us.

So holding grudges makes someone a reliable person to evaluate the fairness of the server?

It's not whining. We are making a statement and a warning. We don't want people crying to us when they find a warning of harassment when they didn't know that it was harassment of staff. This thread was made to say, "get off our tails and stop giving us the unnecessary crap. We will do our jobs regardless of your messages, and your unnecessary messages make our jobs harder."

The issue is this: We are messaging players about certain things. Other players keep on messaging us and we accidentally do /r and message the wrong player about confidential information.

Or we see messages about a certain issue, and then other players message us about unnecessary things, and we accidentally think the messages were from the same player, therefore causing confusion.

I don't think a lot of people got the message of the thread. There are certain people that go through each server, looking through tab to see if there is a staff member. Then they start messaging the staff member about random things, and they don't understand that it is annoying and it makes us uncomfortable.

Second, people also message us about personal information/problems. We ARE NOT your social workers or your psychologists, so we do not need to know about your depression, bullying, and other IRL issues. We understand you're feeling terrible, but we can't give you the answers to your problems. We are forced with the decision to ignore and be an asshole, or we can try to give you advice for your problem, which normally just escalates the issue.

It's internet stalking not irl stalking, so stop twisting our words.

I think I made my point.

And yes, I am locking it because people are starting to make ridiculous and off topic comments.
