They do care about their fanbase. There are many examples of changes they made which were reverted due to the community's reaction. Although, this is probably the biggest. We'll just have to wait and see :D
On a video, drplaystationnation mentions that he thinks a compromise is a good idea in this case. He says that maybe servers would have to be "Mojang-Cerified" to be able to have donation packages. This means that the servers would have to achieve certain standards and a Mojang official could come check it out if the server fills out some sort of application. If the server is approved, then they could use donations, or should I say, purchases. That seems like the best idea for me too because, I doubt Mojang will back out completely, but going with it is a life or death situation to Minecraft. Good point, but maybe they are waiting for another message from Mojang, to be sure it has to be that way.
Ill make a bootleg version of the server block by block! Ima go take screenshots of everything on the server
I will learn to adapt into becoming one with the shadows. It is something I try to do in my spare times here and there.
If this is a thread on if Minecraft gets gone, well... There is a high chance servers will stop running leaving this game a pure solo game. Minecraft Realms would get gone. There would be a lot of rage ion the internet and social media. But most of all... The game would turn to dust and be licked up by a bunch of down syndrome stricken puppies
I have my ways of breaking arms legs, and necks if necessary (Not that something was bad enough for that, so don't worry, I don't kill, it's a self defense mechanism.) So yeah, I can live, not to mention I don't miss marks when it comes to archery, and that using scythes are fun. (I used to own one until it broke. Now I don't have one fml.)
I'm going to quit MC. This server is 99% of what I do in MC nowadays. I'll get addicted to Osu and TF2. Play Portal 1 and 2 1000 moar times. And play through Okami again.
Actually, I think we should be okay. Think of it this way. J&H are a big enough server to serve as publicity for whatever host they have, right? So if they can't fund the server this way anymore, they might be able to work out a deal where they make a big deal out of what host they are using, in return for the server. Or something. There's lots of options out there. Not all companies are completely blind to the usefulness of publicity and free advertising offered just by tossing a little freebie the right direction. You never know what might happen. Thats just one psosibility. So let me stress something here. I do not actually know what J&H have planned. They have -not- told me. THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT. But this is one example. The point is. There are a lot of ways they could do it. In fact, they could even do premium services on the forums. I can think of a multitude of useful features they could offer on the J&H site for a charge that you all would probably enjoy and pay for happily. (They could offer -some- of those as perks for those who already have a rank.) So yeah, I wouldn't count J&H out just yet! And again, J&H -do- care about the community. Sometimes they don't do things the way you think is best, but somehow it tends to work out. Mistakes are made on occasion, but for the most part, they try to serve this community as best they can with the time they have available. I'd say, lets trust in them to sort this out.
I don't think anyone should worry. Mojang is a for-profit company, and they will probably not commit suicide to uphold the words of one employee. Hopefully...
