"Likes" and "Popularity" (Discussion)

I agree. Honestly I think likes are pretty useless. Whenever I make a thread that I feel is important for discussion and instead I get likes instead of replies, it really pisses me off that people would rather just press a button then have a thought out reply.

Sometimes I make a mundane post and get tons of likes for no reason? There's no point. (example below)


Numbers do not define us. We are more than that.

 

That picture you just posted literally summed up what I hate about the like system. (there's more to what I like and don't like, but yeah.)

 

why do people think they're popular for having a lot of messages, likes, and followers on a minecraft forum

like you're not popular at all

 

Take me as an example. I have quite a few likes, but I'm not a "favourite" or "popular" on the server.

 

Of course, you are a perfect example for those that actually is chill with the amount of likes they have, same goes for @MappyTurtle .

what's the point of typing that? If I could give you a summary of your post (By focus of topic), you're trying to say that likes are actually important in another view yet you're saying that IJAH Forums should not have any likes at all in that quote. Meaning that the quote you typed is the opposite of what you're telling. (Plus, the quote doesn't connect to anything on the post. It's like typed there to fill the space)
And,

Have you just realized that you pointed out all the good and bad about this yet you say that there's no point?
It means no sense at all if you're saying there's no point then why do you need to type the points of it?
