Hello everyone! This is more directed to people in the LGBT but if you're completely pro-LGBT feel free to do this too!

I challenge you to a fun month!
The LGBT community is ever-expanding and it's honestly pretty big on the server.

If you're totally pro-LGBT and an LGBT member yourself, I challenge you to do this:
Change your Minecraft IGN to something like this (format):
"[Sexuality][Nickname]"
For example, this is what mine would look like:
"PanExpe".

I will be doing this as well.
I can't change my username yet! That's FINE!

What's so fun?
As a group, we will be going through multiple minigames, as well as social events that you're all invited to.
We don't invite/accept anti-LGBT people, though if you are, we aren't going to be willing to listen to

An update after a couple of weeks/days. I'm not very happy with the way this thread turned, I know you can tell from the way I reacted. Thank you for everyone who was there to back me up, I really needed it in a time like this, when we're all vulnerable. The whole "toughen up" bullshit, it's really just "deal with it". You guys are my everyday heroes. Not just that, you've all managed to pull things that just blow my mind. Instead of "great idea", we get "it's just Minecraft!1!". Who cares? Anyways, I am still upset with the way I reacted to this thread, and I should have been more careful. Thanks, and thanks to Harry for closing it.

 

I'm not going to participate because I don't really have a stand in this but event wise hopefully it works out for people who are passionate about it.

Don't want to be the buzzkill here, but I don't feel we need pride parades in a Minecraft server.

 

Why not? It's a community event. If we can host Christmas parties, Staff battles and other events, parades here should be just fine.

Besides, what's the matter with us if we don't add parades to an LGBT community event?!

 

Hats off to you, this is the type of positivity this community needs right now

Can you make a straight event as well? If you're really striving for equality you should make a straight event..

Well, simply put it, straight people don't have parades in reality. Why can't we just be happy and grateful with this current event?

Also, straight people and gay people aren't treated the same regardless, this is why 2015-2017 has been all about change. It's not about showing off straight pride. I am assuring you that there is no way that I am hosting a straight community event because it's an embarrassment and somewhat offensive.

It's way better just to have an event celebrating everyone, instead of such a niche community.

Because lgbt people aren't accepted as much as straight people. They have pride parades to celebrate the openness of people accepting who they are and sharing it with the world. Straight people aren't oppressed because they are allowed to be who they are because its the norms.
No one gets kicked out of their house for being straight. No one gets shunned by a church for being straight. No one gets told that they are too young to consider themselves "straight".

 

You don't have to be "oppressed" to be prideful.
