I hate school, even though I would rather go than not go at all. I'm getting into advanced classes in classes I barely do well enough at to get in. It is very stressful, including the fact that my grades will be looked upon by colleges and could decide the future of my career. And I need to cut off about three hours of sleep from my daily schedule, and cram a bunch of stuff I need for the beginning of school and start right away. It's stressful, man.
You guys are lucky I have school everyday. Even on he weekends. While you guys have summer, I have school. My break is a 4 week Christmas break.
Hmm.. Grade 10 is gonna be a learning experience and a bunch of fun. High school seemed tough for me, but as I finally slipped into the rhythm of things I grew to like it more and more. Since we're all talking about school, here's some tips to surviving Freshman year. Okay, so first don't worry about "Freshman Friday". If you don't know what Freshman Friday is, it's basically when upperclassmen put freshmans into garbage cans. Your basic bully routine. I don't even think any schools do that. Secondly, I get that finding your rooms is going to be a challenge, but don't be scared to ask a teacher no matter how intimidating they look. Do not panic if you can't find where your classroom. Just follow the signs saying "200 Hallway" if your room is 207. Same thing goes for your other classes. Keep a calm level headed mentality. It's a new school and a new school year. That means get up and find some new friends! It might be nerve wracking at first, but relax. Just be yourself and seem approachable. Maybe try your locker buddy. Ask them how was their day and spark up a conversation. Teachers!! Oh god, Teachers!! Naahh. Teachers are hella cool if you're cool with them even old ones. You just can't act like a brat at times. When they mean business, they mean business. I know people don't like certain teachers because of "too much homework" or "too much tests", but you gotta understand, they have to grade that too. Throughly read it, make comments. It isn't just you who is suffering. They sometimes stay late at night just grading papers. And they have to grade not just for your class, but for other classes they teach. For example, I was in honors biology in freshman year. My teacher taught our class, AP bio, anatomy, and at a community college. That's more work than you had to do for homework or a project. What I'm getting at is appreciate your teachers because what they're doing is for you, not for them. Lastly, HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOUR FIRST YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL!!!
