I think a major problem in our society is exclusion. We tend to huddle in our own little groups and not let anybody in. This, of course, snowballs into frustration and depression that we were not mentally built to withstand. No man is an island. All I ask you guys is that if you see someone that is being isolated by the greater community, invite them in and make them feel welcome. You can feel rewarded by talking to these people if only you try. I know from experience.

Some of you are missing the point of this thread:
This is not a thread about depression, its about suicide. And before you say it, there is a difference. Consequently
Even it was a thread a bout depression Im not saying this solves the problems.
The point of this thread is to share the information that I have obtained over the past years, and some awareness.
If you came here to give an answer to stop all this stop. Thats not going to happen.

Oh, rest be assured, I'm not missing your point. Depression is a major factor in suicide. I would rather not argue over this, there is plenty of research for it. Cool, if this is the knowledge you have obtained over past years, then I can say the same about my post. You were giving pointers. So have I. Unless you're talking about the argument that occurred in this thread, you're confusing me.

people who are depressed/feeling suicidal should see therapists or psychologists because it's unhealthy and dangerous.

people complete actions while in a sort of trance due to these things, and they're usually wrong things to do.

they cut themselves, put themselves down, and in extreme cases kill themselves (suicide).
i know that tons of people say that talking to someone like a friend or family member will help, but you can't be so sure.

if you take that chance, the person could say/do something wrong/hurtful, and not mean it, but it means something bad to you. that's why it's best to talk to someone like a counselor, therapist, or psychologist because those people are experienced in those types of fields and can really help you get through these stages in your life.

depression is not something you diagnose yourself with, it's a mental illness/disorder that is not something you just say you are because you broke up with your boyfriend, or people aren't treating you right. yes, if you broke up with your boyfriend because of something that they did which affected you wrongly in a long term period, it could possibly be depression. if people aren't treating you right, it's not depression yet again unless it's long term and it's to a breaking point, like extreme bullying (i.e: physical, cyber, etc.). some people get depression at early stages in their lives, like if you were young and lost a family member/person who was very meaningful to you. you can develop depression youngly and carry it throughout your life. it's not something that just goes away though, that's why you need to get help if you have it.

a lot of people just suspect that they're depressed when they feel upset/ hurt for a while. there's a difference between the two.
when you randomly diagnose yourself of depression, it can do wrong things like first of all, set an example for others so that when they're upset, they also randomly suspect it, and also hurt people who truly have this illness and they can't take you seriously/ feel made fun of.

i just wanted to put this out there because a lot of people were saying otherwise, and even if not, i just wanted to put it out there anyway.

(also, please please correct me if im wrong because id hate to put any wrong info out there.)
