    its a great start but you have to remember:
    Lots of bills are introduced into the government every year. Only a portion of those go to a vote, an even smaller amount are signed into law.
    This is where you come in.
    This seems to be something your passionate about, and that's awesome!
    You should use that passion to lobby for this. Write letters, visit your representatives. Talk to the sponsors of the bill and see what you can do to help.

    ^ Use the power of language and rhetoric to sway your state legislators. You're a passionate person; let them know your personal state but also the rights you deserve through a balance emotion and the aforementioned rhetoric. Do so effectively, and slap that on your résumé. That will look SO good on a college app.

    I actually am in the process of scheduling a meeting with the person who introduced the bill. I've also been speaking with sponsors. Since I'm the leader of our schools GSA, we're going to be writing letters.
