It feels like grief, like a chapter of my life closing. I haven't been there, but I've been watching over it for all this time.
I don't want to be saved, but I do feel sadness of the thought of it being gone.
I assume it's more feeling of times that have passed, friendships that have watered out and memories that have faded.
Seeing this place, the videos - Somehow I can't remember much of it anymore it's A rediscovery of many years of my life that I can look back at now.
And I always look back at them with a smile on my face.

 

my shitposting aside -

i was a troublemaker growing up on here ngl, the only good memory i have of this server is meeting @Turrtles in 2013 ish. although, the server will be a part of my childhood despite me not being into minecraft in general anymore. used to love coming home from primary and then secondary school (i'm guessing it's elementary - middle/highschool for y'all) and just hop on the server whilst watching dantdm or some other creators at the time.

it feels weird to come back here and only have so few online these days, this place partially helped me discover myself and what i wanted to do in life. i met turrtles when i was around 9/10 years old, met my first ex-girlfriend around the age of 15 (who was the girl who inspired me to start editing so shout out to her) and met pretty much everyone on here even though half of them probably don't remember me.

i did a lot of things on here, my past wasn't the best but i've grown to adapt and mature a little with my childish tendencies (by that i mean controlling my anger issues and such).

i went from being an obsessed minecraft nerd (and being a staff on here) to being a full-time editor for my career, discovered my passion for musical theatre in 2019 and a butt ton more. it's weird looking back on the past 9 years i've been around and seeing how much i've grown, and how much everyone has grown, and i'm proud of all of you for where you guys are today.

I was here early on, at the age of 15/16 I joined this place and quickly got involved in helping on the server (for as much as I could as I was more of a nuisance I think haha) and helping in the videos / commentary. Looking back, I see how much I've grown and thinking back I see how many have grown as well. You included. I know my role was always vague, but I see everything. I made sure I was doing what I could with my powers here to make sure people were safe, and were having fun.

I have faded from a lot of memories I assume, which was painful at first but I'm content with it now.

You were on the ''little shits lists'' but, no more. Proud of you too. Keep it up, glad this server left a positive impact on your life.

yeah, i don't really remember 2013-2018 well at all but i do remember all the drama i caused through all those years, quite funny to look back on. being staff was fun but eventually i just couldn't find the time to do the job anymore with new interests and everything else going on, i took staff really seriously and tbh i wish i didn't.

either way, i'm glad it's all over, even though there's a bit of sadness and nostalgia in this place

You weren't a piece of shit, you were young. There are several people I have spoken to who grew up to be fine young adults. But they all have one thing in common, when they were young they were annoying.

Can't wait for that day to come.

 

I hope they make the forums available to download as an archive (or something similar) so we can hold on to some of the memories.

I always wondered when the day would come and the donation goal wouldn't be reached and it seems like it’s happening sooner rather than later sadly.

I spent a good chunk of my teenage years on here and met a load of people good and bad in my time here, it taught me a load of life lessons and things I wouldn't have necessarily learned from real life at my age until much later. I was probably on the so called “little shit” lists during my younger years for being a little edgelord (scroll through my old posts on my profile man, it’s a cringe fest), but I’d rather have made those mistakes at that age than now where I’m basically an adult and have my own responsibilities and goals in life that I’m working towards. I think even now though that I can sit with friends I met on this server, some of them I’ve even got to meet in person and laugh about all the stupid shit we used to get up to and even more so the stupid drama we went through as pubescent kids, that’s something I’ll cherish more than I probably know about.

If it goes down at the end of the month and that’s curtains it’s been a hell of a ride, I’ve not been on the server in year or two but I’ll be sad to see it go.

 

its surprising to me that the donation goal is still being hit. I was wondering how much longer the server had.

I still sometimes think about this old place, and how it had been 10 years since I've first joined this community. I remember all the fun I had on my crappy Windows XP PC playing minecraft on the server, that and all the crappy drawings I made on here. Even with that said, this place helped shaped my online persona and who I am today, and it also definitely gave me the push to study art in University, which is what I'm doing now!

When the day comes and I hear the server is shutting down, I'm definitely going to return one final time to say goodbye. It's gonna be sad but it's also going to be bittersweet too to see this nostalgic place go away.
