Minecraft can you still get mending book from fishing in 1.15?

    returning player here and I was AFK-fishing overnight, get about 10 full double chests, tons of books, not one of them has mending though, but a tons of mending fishing rod and mending bow. so is it still possible to get mending book from fishing? or do i have to set up a villager farm for it

    The server runs on 1.8, so it's not possible for you to catch books/bows with enchantments added in later versions even if you're playing in 1.15. You also won't be able to buy Mending books from villagers.

    If you're talking about Minecraft in general, outside of the server then yes, you're still able to catch enchanted books with Mending from fishing. However it's far less likely than catching a fishing rod or bow with Mending, which is why you noticed you were getting a lot of those instead. Trading villagers for Mending books is the most optimal way of obtaining Mending books.

    Worth noting "AFK-Fishing" (read: auto-fishers) are considered hacking and not permitted here.

    Otherwise, the answer above is correct.
