Ah, makes sense, price varies as always. But yea, you're right, it's pretty overkill, especially for the games you're planning on playing. As for me, I'm just looking for something that'll last me for quite a while, and with games that are badly optimised like Watch Dogs 2, a GTX 1070 would be useful for me.
Have you seen the announcement of the GTX 1080 Ti by the way? Nvidia had a giveaway over the past week where they gave away 108 1080 Tis. I didn't win myself, of course. Chances are normally quite low.. :/
I missed it, wouldn't have participated nonetheless and it hasn't even been brought in my country yet. The GTX 1080 costs 600 euros I bet the Ti will cost more than my whole new summer rig.
Damn dude, 600 euros is quite the increase. It's also a tad bit more expensive here in Malaysia, so I'm thinking of buying it off of Amazon (although shipping and tax isn't the cheapest).
I've just been looking forward to actually piling up the money for my PC as I was initially planning on getting an iMac, but now I'm more into the PC side as I can get much better performance for the same price. Not to mention I'll be able to run OS X on Windows using a virtual machine software like VMWare.
If it's as attractive to buy as Ryzen 7 and I can find good reviews about then I don't see why not. If it's cheaper than Intel Core i5 I might even have enough money left over to go for 16 gigs of RAM. I'm currently going for 8 gigs because RAM prices are a bunch of pricks and would upgrade to 16 gigs nearly as soon as I would be able to
Perhaps they'll decrease by this summer? You never know. Anyway, like I asked, have you tried checking Amazon, perhaps you can buy some components off of there.
Is about as expensive. Unless you order from USA but the shipping fee makes it as expensive again if not more expensive. Back in November my classmates said the stuff I wanted would be way cheaper in the summer- haven't seen any prices go down yet, except the GPU which went from 300 to 275 euros
Yea, so you never know, the prices might go down in the summer. Just keep your fingers crossed and hope that they do. I suspected that Amazon might be a more suitable solution for you, didn't know the shipping would be pricy. The same case goes for me, shipping prices are damn high, but I thought you might have better luck with it.
Only Newegg is cheaper but charges a lot for the shipping since it's USA
@RAM "According to industry sources, it could be the third quarter of 2017 before prices stabilize." Inb4 RAM prices going down again after I built my pc
That's pretty unlucky aha. But like you said, the great thing about PCs is the room for upgrading later on. So even if you only bought 8GB, you can easily add another 8GB later on.
Looking back at your list though, if you don't need a full 250GB SSD, you could go down to 120GB and get the extra 8 gigs of RAM. I'm personally only going for 120 gigs for an SSD because I don't see myself needing more than that, with a 1TB HDD (I know SSDs are faster but yea, 120GB is still a lot of room).
I am already scraping the HDD to save the 50 dollars. My current laptop has a 120GB SSD which is being used for about 75% with no games except Minecraft installed so I will definitely need that 250GB. I will indeed go with 8GB RAM and upgrade later this year but I'm still pissed that I need to pay as much for 8 GB now than I had to for 16 GB only a few months ago
Sounds good. Guess you'll have to wait until summer and see what happens, maybe some prices will go down, or maybe Ryzen 5 will be very affordable and could save you some money.
Dude, 120 euros? Surely you can find it for cheaper. It's so cheap here, and that's because I'm not going to buy it from Microsoft themselves, but from a store or such that sells the OS. It's much cheaper that way. It's only about 30 euros where I live, if I converted the currency. Try and look for some reseller that would sell it for cheaper maybe?
The OEM version of Windows is 30 euros yes, but it's bound to your motherboard so once you get a new motherboard it will deactivate itself. Asides from that it looks like all Ryzen 5 CPU's are overclockable while my current choice of motherboard doesn't support it so I might have to spend a few more euros into an overclockable one
Currently the Ryzen 5 1500X seems the most attractive since it looks a lot like the Intel Core i5 7500 but money is really getting shorthanded since that windows discovery :I
Hooray, turns out I can still get Windows 10 Education without having Windows preinstalled :) Turns out that website I got the info from was just a piece of shit
Well I'm trying not to think too much about it until June really. I'm going to sell some of my plugins on spigot which could add some more money into my budget. But again I avoid thinking about it because it will only make the wait longer, even though it's quite difficult as it's the only thing to be excited for in my life right now...
Well, to be honest the Ryzen 5 and Core i5 all have nearly the same price but Ryzen probably has the enhanced performance... I can't really decide which CPU I'm going for so I'll just be bored for 2 months until some builds and benchmarks roll out
AMD better could've named it the RX 490 plus all comments on the release video were all mentioning Vega. The only that has changed is the clock speed so it's kind of a letdown
Yea I didn't expect much from the RX 580, there's a slight better FPS performance though. I am waiting to see what Vega could do myself, although I personally prefer Nvidia. Hopefully it's not a letdown.
Aha, let's just keep our fingers crossed for Vega. I'm not sure if it'll be good enough to beat the 1080Ti, especially considering the rumoured $300-$400 price point, but hopefully it'll AT LEAST be good enough to beat the GTX 1070, hopefully the 1080 too.
I'm just wondering whether they will release midrange cards as well. Like the RX 580 and GTX 1060 are good enough to max out everything on 1080p, everything better than that will be overkill unless you have a 144hz display.
I also recently thought about going for 1440p but quickly realized that'd be stupid since the RX only reached about 40 fps on modern games plus the monitor would be more expensive
Might as well not spoil myself too much so early on as well. Still want to be impressed by higher resolutions, higher refresh rates and freesync/gsync after at least a couple years ;)
