What's happening with Staff Apps

There have been a few complaints about the Staff Applications area getting quite messy. It is understandable.
On behalf of some of the staff team (who have been denying applications), I'd like to apologise for pushing back many of your pending applications. We didn't really think much about it, we just started doing it as a bit of a hobby and something to do. We also tried to suggest putting in sections to make the area more neat, which has been completed :) seems to not be going ahead. @MappyTurtle and many others commented on implementing a more efficient solution to sorting the applications. As we are being linked to many of the n/a applications, we can't deny without replying. We would have to reply, go back to the thread list, click the checkbox, and select the option for it to be officially denied. It was stated by a few that the inactive people won't care (or probably even realise) if their really old application is in the potentials pile.

I then brought up an improvement - to just lock those threads without responding. The only threads that will be denied/replied to are the ones recent. E.g. If someone joined today, and their first post was their application - we would deny with reason.

We're cleaning the section as something to do in our spare time. We will eventually clean it up and get to your pending applications. From that point, some of the staff and I will respond to your applications, give you final pointers/tips and shoot some scenarios - if you haven't already had this happen. If we find an application that hasn't been responded to in a long time but the member is quite active, we will ask that member if they'd like to lock that one and re-apply later. This helps us determine whether you are still interested in becoming a staff member.

It actually doesn't matter if your application is being pushed back. According to the higher staff, they look at the apps by those who show potential. So, if they wanted to find your app, they'd just go into the search bar, enter something like "application" and enter, in the "Posted by member" area, your forum name (we would know it if you stand out quite a bit within the community) and find it. We aren't being so limited on time to get this cleaning done, as I said, it's just something to do to make the forums a bit more tidy :p
