What recording software do you use?

So I was wondering what recording software you guys use because I want to start recording 1v1's with ppl and I want to here your suggestions Bc a lot of people post videos that have no lag when they record

The lag depends on your computer

 

What treelegs said.. It depends on your computer. Especially the processor, GHz and the amount of RAM. But I'd suggest getting Fraps, but look up online for some recording softwares.. And that might give you a better idea.

 

I use XSplit Broadcaster but I have to adjust my settings to not lag.

 

Idk why but when I download fraps and I start recording it randomly just stops the recording .-.

 

Could be the settings you have set on it.. But idk what the problem could be.

 

Lag depends mainly on your harddrive. If you have a slow harddrive its going to be very hard to record at frame rates where you do not lag as when you are recording your computer is taking 60FPS (Frames Per Second/ Pictures Per Second) and this all has to be saved to your harddrive in rapid succession. If you have a slow harddrive this will be very hard to do as your computer and harddrive will have to work overtime to save the files and it will cause your game on computer to lag. To answer your question, I use fraps personally. These are my settings.

I have a fast harddrive 7200RPM which allows me to record at these high settings without any frame lag issues :)

 

Quicktime.

I need to have an audio and screen recording separate doe. So its kinda bs.

 

I use Fraps but another good one to use would be OBS.

 

I use bandicam. It is great. Fraps saves at too high file sizes for my internet to upload. I use OBS to record web-based games though.

 

So Bandi-cam is better for crap computers bc I have a really bad one.

 

You definitely have more options. I would say go with obs because if you aren't going to take advantage of the high quality stuff with handicam, and obs is easy on worse computers, bandicam isn't worth the 40$ for you.

I personally love bandicam although my computer is very decked out on parts

 

Noah, I record with OBS. 0% lag and its amazing! That's how I recorded all my videos and they are all HD. I suggest recording with OBS. Another thing, Using Fraps and DXTORY can cause lag as it only allows you to record at 60FPS which makes it HD. But with OBS you can record at any FPS HD so you get everything in one. From my experience nothing is better than OBS as far as I have known about. Oh yes actually, there is another program called Action which is $30. If you need help to get started with OBS just PM me if you would like... Because you need to change setting and I will help.

I actually had the same issue with fraps. No lag but literally could not use it because it would freeze my Minecraftand stop recording every 3 minutes.
I started using Dxtory instead thanks to a friend and it works really well, I just can't use it when Minecraft is full screen. I have to have Minecraft in tiny window form and it's frustrating sometimes when you need to see far away but hey, thank whoever for optifine.

Also, the lag is based on your computer.
Stuff like Fraps work well with good PCs.
However, if you don't have a powerful PC, recording will be tough.
