But you can't use examples to describe a colour... That is more of a challenge...

    Challenge accepted.

When you take your lady out dancing, this is the colour of her dress. It's the colour that you feel when you just can't take it anymore, but also the colour when you are empowered and energized. The colour that sits on a delicate flower in nature vibrantly contrasting against the other foliage. This is the colour that preschoolers learn along with the others in a certain order, chanting and memorizing. This is the colour of a wounded soldier limping across the battlefield, the colour of the enemy's flag triumphantly waving across the land.

This colour dances through the skies at nightfall, the colour that commercials use to make you hungry. This colour doesn't have much to say, it's just the middle of its two brothers. This colour is the feeling you have when everything is just alright, not perfect, but good enough. This colour is not happy nor sad. When a little baby plays with their zoo-animal inspired toys, this is its colour.

This colour is most often the representative of happiness. The colour that reminds people of a day with beautiful weather where there isn't a worry in the world and being outside is the most endearing for this colour. This is the colour that happy faces make, the colour of light at first glance. This colour isn't always easy to look at, but those who do enjoy its brightness will always feel warm inside.

This is the first colour you see when you step outside and look down. The colour that represents "go!" or "okay!" or "acceptable!". The colour that satisfies when it shows up. The colour of gardener's thumbs. This is the earth's second favourite colour. This is the colour that people think of when they hear the words "nature" or "planet" or "completed". This colour is the organization and satisfaction and work payed off.

This is the colour that most would use as a metaphor for sadness. This is the colour of the vastness when there is no land in sight. This is the colour of your mother's tear-stained eyes when you left home for the first time. This is the colour of your pillow when you had your first nightmare and quickly pushed them off to run into the safety of your parent's arms. This is the colour of peace and tranquility. This is the colour of melancholy and depression. This is the colour of children's endless questions about the universe.

This is the colour of your best friend's favorite shirt. This is the colour of your bedroom walls when you went through that 'awkward' phase. This is the colour of passionate romance and deep sleep. This is the colour of your hands when you are done finger painting. This is the colour of breathlessness, of passion, of hope. This is the colour of mood, and moodiness.

This is the colour of the little card you made for your crush in first grade on valentine's day. This is the colour of your cheeks when your first love happily accepted the gift. This is the colour of childhood innocence and the confidence boosting colour that unites people. This is the colour of the little dots you see after you look at a light. This is the colour of that one sock you found under your bed. This is the colour your teacher wore one day and got laughed at for. This is the colour of love.

Watched this a long time ago. I think it fits with this thread. He mentions the lack of a clear way of describing a color to the blind.

I think he meant "Describe a color to a blind person" You cannot compare a color to the colors of grass because they do not know what grass is.
