So, I've spent a long time, maybe a year on my island, which is now rather large. I decided to donate for VIP to see what the VIP island was. As a precaution I was worried if I created a VIP Island, I would lose my original island, so I asked in chat, and low and behold I was told I would lose my original Island, and those people that were added to it would also lose their island as it would be deleted/removed. I guess my question is what the use of this VIP island if you lose the island you were working on when you joined? Can you transfer ownership to one of the other people who are on your island? I've searched the forums but am unable to find anything related to how donations work, which would have been nice BEFORE I donated for something that is now worthless Let me know if anyone has any ideas. You cannot transfer ownership :/ Now, there are 3 skyblock islands, so you can make a VIP on one of those, if you don't want to lose your original island. They way you say this, it sounds like you think donating for an island is a scam because people already have one. This is not the case.
I guess I wouldn't be so skeptical if this information weren't written somewhere that's easy to find. I would think that most people play here a bit before donating, and therefore already have an island. But let the buy beware as they say. My own fault for not asking before I donated. You also get to have a green name tag allowing you to show that you donated to the server. You also can do /headgrabber to get someone's head and can also the /effects for awesome fire effects around you.
All of that is true and I'm not really upset about it, I just wished I had known ahead of time. Thank you all for the information.
You can't create a new island without deleting your current one. The VIP island just has some extra starter items in the chests and scattered across the island. From cobwebs to diamond ore to spawn eggs. No, you sadly cannot transfer ownership. If you'd like to see this implemented, contact the plugin devs and author. Hope that answered all your questions :).
Donating for VIP isn't all island though, as @Kinsy mentioned before. If you want another rank, say, legend, instead of paying $50 as you would without a rank, it becomes only $20. Which, is nice. Unless I am mistaken, you get priority in minigames rooms. Two reserved places in build it and gold armour in oitc *I think that may be either donator and up or hero and up*. And donators get beta testing on minigames, so we can play the next minigame before it gets officially released (Which is either the next day to 5 days depending on the bugs).
