[URGENT BUG] Survival LWC Error

LWC is throwing errors, but that doesn't really provide much.

Is LWC still functioning properly, as in are your protections still protected from others? Can you protect things?

 

It does not protect signs but I'm not sure about chests

 

You can't use /lock whatsoever. Items are still protected, and using /lock on an already protected item will still give you the "This ____ is already registered". It will not allow you to create new protections through /lock, or normal placing.

 

So is the error in the OP the error you get when you try to /lock something?

 

Eeyup. Same when you place something, such as a chest or sign, and it tries to create a new protection.

 

Okay well I assume something is preventing it from connecting to the database all the protections are stored on. If they used a flat file, there would be no problem in the server being able to read/write to it as it's stored locally. I assume they're storing the LWC protections on an external MySQL database then.

My best guess is that it's loading protections the server has cached in memory, but if you were to interact with a protection that hasn't been loaded since the error started occurring, LWC wouldn't be able to load the protection. If whatever is preventing it from reaching the database (assuming I was right with what I have said already) still persists by the next restart, it may not load any protections at all.

Edit: So I checked the one chest I had locked in Survival and it was protected. So either someone loaded it and the protection recently (again if I'm right with how the protections are loaded) or LWC is able to read the database but not write to it.

Or of course I could be totally wrong \o/
