'Staff interruption' is the most viewed thread on this forums. http://itsjerryandharry.com/index.php?threads/staff-interruption.135/ That's actually pretty sad. The most viewed post SHOULD be the rules, yet even the staff apps have more views then that thing. Think about this: A spammy forum game gained a lot of attention and is the most viewed thread on the ENTIRE forum. The rules, used for both the server and forums, which are very important, have 6000-7000 LESS views then Staff interruption. Tell me that isn't bs.
Erm. I can't tell you it isn't bs because it is. People just like getting into fun stuff. I mean, think about it. Before doing a activity in school, don't you just want to get to it, instead of knowing rules?
Meh, well, in all seriousness, most of the users on the forums don't exactly read the rules... It's just how it is :/
YOU may have read them. But there's so many people out that say, "Who reads the rules anymore?" Or think that they know everything. Not many people read the rules anymore which is why there tends to be a lot of rule breakers.
I don't see a provlem in here. People view what they want to view, if they didn't read the rules, then getting banned, it's their own fault then.
If I'm correct and you may correct me if I'm wrong. But I'm pretty sure every time you go on a thread even if you've already looked at it, it counts as a view. So all those replies and everyone looking at it contentiously builds up while the rules. You read once or twice. Again, correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's the way it works.
Even so, taking away the troll accounts & fake/spam ones, that leaves 1000-2000 people who haven't read the rules. Those people tend to be the ones that mess up the most, and come under the fire of those who have read it at some stage.
I think it's because the Staff Interuption page is viewed by members who have read the rules before, and therefore is viewed more often.
The thread got really big yeah, but then again its a thread that people constantly check. You making this post, just gave it my view too. Why wouldn't you check out a big thread with 108 pages? Ofcourse I feel the same way that the rules should be the most viewed, but on the old forums I managed to get my ''Ask me anything'' thread in second place right behind the forum rules. People check the threads they are most interested in, we cant change that.
That's a good point. Staff & Crew threads usually get a lot of attention. Staff interruption, involves staff therefore gaining attention. That is the only reason my thread got 700-800 more views then yours in RS. If multiple staff didn't comment, it wouldn't have 1200+ views ;-; Imo, the rules should be compulsory, not optional. Read the rules before posting. It would help stop a lot of the rule breakers and stuff.
Sigh, at least some people read them. Although, I account for 4-5 of the views, say most people read it the same times as me, that leaves not many people that have read the rules... Some people are smart enough to know how to act in a community like this, yet, we get people like Benis & Raphet, bubba and teolicht. People yearn for the old days, but, we can't go back. We need a plugin that forces people to read rules.
People can't seem to let go of ''the old days'' no. and a plugin tht forces people to read won't help, Lets be honest. You download something and you ''NEED'' to read the terms and agreements, what do you do? Sit there and read them all, no. I just scroll down and it think I did it. And some people have been on forums before and in other communitys and know how to you know kinda act in them. Im not saying anyone is acting ''wrong'', because thats just how they are. But people like you do know how to ''act'' in a community and actually help it out. I never read full posts because tl;dr but your post are actually good and full of usefull information, so I read them. Even tho you take some things too hard your post about them are still full of good and usefull points.
First up, thanks! :D At least a few people think my threads are useful >u< Everyone does the terms and conditions thing *I've read the whole terms and conditions thing before...SO BORING D:* They are there for the people who need them. The only reason I read the rules, is because this was the first threading community I joined, and so I didn't screw up every post I did. Many people do not need to read the rules, as they can figure out how to react and post in coherence to the forums. As I mentioned before, some people do. I've talked to people, and read posts. The penalty for disobeying rules was a lot stricter. I mean, not to be rude or anything, but everyone knows about Teolicht, right? The guy who achieved Well-Known through 3 alts, made a rank up competition and announced the winner, straight after left the server and didn't give the prize, etc etc. His account is still there. He broke some many rules, double posting and everything. No staff have done anything. Raphet and Bubba were gone, but after a while of spamming and stuff. The only account I've seen insta-banned after creation is Benis. What do you mean by I take things too hard? >-< xD
