    I got thinking.
    Tada, tutorial.

Welcome, to Map's tutorial of the forums!!!!
    First up, we have:
    1. How to interact with fellow members.
Alright, so, if you want to be in the crowd of people, but don't want to be known for doing wrong, this is how you do it.
Don't post rude stuff. That'll get you hated by most.
Don't act like you should be involved. Only post if you FEEL it is necessary.
Don't act like EVERYONE should know you.
Don't be suck-ups to the people with higher-authority then you.
Don't act like you HAVE authority.
Don't post stuff irrelevant to the thread, post, or sub-section/section it's located in.
    Make an introduction.
Wait a few weeks to post a staff app.

That's basic. Most people should and have handled how to do all of that correctly.

    2. How to get further involved with the community.
    This one is harder.
    Essentially, what you don't want to do, is mess up on a thread where people can attack you for;
    a) Being rude
    b) Posting something nsfw
    c) Posting something irrelevant/spam-like
    d) Posting something not in accordance to the rules.
    And, well...
Some people break the rules unintentionally, can you guess why?
    THEY HAVEN'T READ THE RULES.
Let's go through each, shall we?
Do not spam. Well, this is obvious. Spamming is annoying, and seen as post farming. Try and avoid doing this as much as you can.

Respect the staff. Yes, respect the staff, but as much as respect goes, do not suck up to them.
Do not discriminate, bully, flame or blackmail anyone on the server. Treat others as you you'd want to be treated. Tsk tsk, silly Hai. Treat others as you'd* want to be treated. Such surprise that no one has picked up on that yet. Ahem, back to the rule. You wouldn't want me posted rude stuff about you on a thread you cared about, right?
Do not advertise, unless you are allowed to. Advertising, well. Server advertising is out of the question, YET, rules have stated that you may advertise YouTube & Twitch links, as long as there is IJAH content on there, and the links are not spammed.
Do not use a ridiculously large text size all the time. Those are meant for titles. Well, this isn't so much of a important rule. I do use large text size sometimes, but not all the time. I use it for important points, and in moderation, so stick to what I do and you should be fine.

Stay on-topic, anything off-topic will be counted as spam. People go off-topic a lot. Try not to, but of course you may accidentally go off-topic. If you happen to do so, and want to continue the conversation, feel free to do that in a inbox conversation.

This is an English forum, so talk only English. I haven't seen many people talk in other languages, so, I guess people are fine with this rule.

Do not post any pornographic material or anything NSFW (Not safe for work) We have some people that post this type of stuff. Please refrain yourself from doing so. If people post nsfw stuff, these forums gets banned in more public places, and trust me, you DO NOT want the forums banned at your school. :(

Do not talk about piracy, warez or anything illegal. Alright. So, most of you are wondering, what does warez mean? Well, warez is basically piracy. You know those cracked minecraft launches that most of us probably used at one point or another? Those are warez. If you posted a copyrighted picture, and made it as your own, and gained something out of that, that's warez.

No profanity. Ahaha, this rule is broken a LOT, sometimes by me ;-; It should be changed to:
    Don't overuse profanity.

Do not enforce the rules if you are not a staff member. Report the user and leave it to a moderator to handle. I do not have to explain this one, as it should be easy enough to understand on it's own.

Do not bump excessively. Ahh, bumping. Well, here's some guidelines. Do not bump anything over 2-3 weeks old, unless you have edited your staff app. Do not bump straight after another bump.

Do not create multiple accounts for yourself. Just please. Don't. Usually, you'll get IP banned.

Use the edit button, don't add anything by double posting. Double posting, such annoying. It's seen as post farming. The only time double posting can be seen as acceptable is that the thing you are adding can NOT be added via editing your first post, such as more evidence for reports, information for threads, stories, etc etc.

Do not impersonate others. How would you like someone pretending to be you do something wrong, and you get the punishment? Just, don't please.

Hacking, exploiting or anything else that ruins the experience of other members is forbidden. I haven't seen this much, except for people that flame others. Once you flame, that becomes HARASSMENT & therefore ruins the experience of other members.

Do not use excessively large images. Only use images if it adds to the quality of your post
Yes, as you go around, images are used a lot. Most of the time the images fit the thread's purpose, such as my drawings fit in my drawing threads.

Alright, so, let's continue. As you trudge along, having read the rules & have followed them for some time, you come across your first bridge.
A informative thread. To some, a flame thread, to others, an amazing thread.
I have made many informative threads, as one is located in my status.
Informative threads are usually found in long, packed groups.
Rarely, you can get one in small groups, such as my thread in off-topic about how Staff interruption has more views then the rules.
That was small yet said a lot.

Another thing, most people say long threads are bad.
Well, they help in more then just one way.
Your typing ability gets better, vocabulary, understanding, perseverance to type more, etc etc.
I used to be terrible at typing stuff more then 1000 words. I probably type more in threads like this.
I also use more 'smarter' words in speech.

These forums are here for us, to decide what we do on there. If you choose the right path to go down, you'll end up VERY highly respected around here.
Not to be rude, brag, or anything of the sort, but people like me are very respected around here. On other forums, no, because it's hard reaching the top in other communities.

You may think some people are really smart and have acted really nice over the last few weeks, and that they should be respected a lot more, chances are they have changed in order for staff to notice and they gain Helper.

Yes, we all want Helper, including me, but if that rank influences you to change drastically, I'm sorry, but you do not deserve the rank.
You need to be nice, smart and respected, not act like it.

Yes, staff get respect, but, as much as they say it doesn't, it's all because of their rank.
[Helper] and up get respected because they were originally respected enough to gain the trust of the owners to obtain commands otherwise impossible to achieve as a non-staff.

For us normal people, we get respected because we stand up amongst the crowd. We make threads explaining faults, and end up getting something across. We get things across, due to us being highly regarded. It's hard, but once you get respected as a non-staff, you can change a lot of things if you complain enough.

Yes, two people have been banned for complaining, but as they were departed, they made the owners change something, as well as leave us all with something to think about. They haven't left the community all together, as they are in contact with some people & I.

Let me cover the most important thing about starting an important thread.
Some of my friends, have said 'If you get banned, you are welcome to (server name here)' & 'What happens if you get banned from IJAH?'
My response is this: 'I cannot get banned for something that is not wrong. I have not attacked the owners, nor anyone for that matter. It is an thread stating my opinions, nothing more, nothing less. If I was to get banned, they wouldn't have peace and quiet for a long time. I have friends that would stand up for me, even if that means a possibility of getting banned. It would also be a childish act of the owners to do that in a situation similar to that (My thread).'

Do not be afraid to stand up for yourself and friends in a thread, as that is a pathetic excuse if you were to get banned.

Another point. Do not shun other's opinions. You may question them, but do not shun them. Opinions are opinions, but as soon as you shun them, you get yourself into a world of trouble.

Friendship may be important, but do not go as far as to get yourself involved with something that you never needed to be part of.

If you have had a fight with someone, do not tell a friend not to be friends with person you have quarrelled with. Their view of said person is different to yours.

If you feel emotionally stressed about talking to someone, as it'll lead into a fight, contact a staff, or even a psychologist to talk, never get the police or important authorities involved with something so little.

If you have a fight with someone, don't be afraid to say sorry.
Right before Pyro & Flare left, I managed to say sorry & goodbye to Pyro.
For a long time I never got to say sorry to Flare, until he did so via Elite.
I then found him on Hypixel, and made an apology there.
Many people think apologies are the result of a bad act made by someone.
Apologies are the act of growing up and realising what you did wrong, as well as making amends with someone.
Even after what had happened, especially since I was part cause of those two getting banned, we are all friends again, all because I managed to apologise.
To be honest, I wish I had apologised sooner, as maybe then those two would of stayed on the forums longer, but what can you do. ;-; sigh. Gone off track, haven't I?

Don't disregard threads as someone randomly spending 10 minutes making it. I've spent around 1 hour alone on this thread. This thread has taken time I could've spent playing mc, yet, I make a thread aimed at explaining things to people.

Don't be afraid to speak up and ask a few things, as well as correct people. The worst thing is letting someone walk away with wrong information. Also, don't listen to people who aren't staff when they are telling you something. Especially when it's an acquaintance saying you got a staff position or something of the sort.

Staff & Crew members may be well regarded and well respected, but that does not mean you should treat them any different as you would a friend.
Same goes for random people. Don't treat them like dirt, or worse. They are just like you, a forumer.

    An important message:
You are nothing more then a forumer. You come online, you post something and gain the attention of staff. You get comments and likes. Everyone praises you, but, at the end of the day, you are nothing more then a simple person, living their life.

    Another important message:
You can be treated like crap in the real world, abused, hated, everything, but on the forums & server you are different.
Most people can relate to this, as can I.
The forums give a chance to those, a chance to feel respected, worthy, liked.
Once you feel respected, your mood & emotion in the real world are affected.
A sad, lonely person can come on here, feel respected, and become happy.
That's the power of these forums. We can change people's lives. You can do that anywhere.
Although we can and have change people's lives (Ie: My life), we tend to talk about unimportant stuff.
Never underestimate the power you have, because you may be able to save someone's life, just as you are.

Hey, a thread made by me, that isn't hating on people! Wooo :D
    Welp, hope it wasn't a pain to read ;-;
    Enjoy...? ^-^

Alrighty. So, let's help you be better at the forums.

    Firstly, your spelling and stuff.
Don't put random capitals in the middle of your sentence.
    Correctly, your sentence should be:
    A lot of info!

Secondly, if you are to post on other's threads, make sure it contains more then just 'A lot of info!'
I would prefer some decent conversation if anything.

    Thanks!

    Wow map,
This is a lot of info and you spent a lot of time on this. I'm really thankful that you made this. I hope a staff member sees this and understands the time you put into this and you have done a lot for the server.
    Thanks for doing this

    Nice tutorial!

If I may ask, where did you get the "bumping" guidelines from?

They are the ones I guide by, as, I would not bump something over a few weeks old, nor would I bump twice in a row.
