Supreme Court Ruling (Gay Marriage)

This has probably already been posted, and this only applies to you if you're in the US.
What's your opinion?
Personally, I never had a doubt that it would come out eventually, it's fairly relatable to slavery, it's a basic right that just can't be denied. Really, the only reason it has been denied before is for religious reasons, and that is stupid, considering that the Separation of Church and State has been a thing for many centuries.

No way this can be compared to slavery. Doesn't help that per the United States Constitution, amendment ten, all rights not vested into the U.S. Federal Government are therefore given to the states. Not given to a group of eight unelected individuals.

 

Hmm, I guess I didn't get my point across, I mean that this is an essential right, it was bound to be given. I don't mean in any way to say that people who aren't married are like slaves or something like that (that would be weird). I hope you understand what I mean.

 

The worst part IMO about the Gay Marriage problem is how people use the bible to define a secular law. Not to mention it's their god. Not the god of Islam or the gods of Hindu. And when we talk down about their god in government, they call it religious persecution. It really is quite stupid.

I am athiest myself but this pastor can tell it better than anyone:

 

My opinion is that people should be able to love who they want to love. You shouldn't be frowned upon by someone just because it is against their religion.
In fact, I despise people who use religion against people. If you are a religious person, that's cool and I will respect you and your religion, but once you start to use your religion against people and tell them that it's wrong to be gay or that it's wrong to be lesbian, then that's where I draw the line.
