I skipped some of the storyline in chapter 2 to make it a little bit better. Chapter 3 After those experiences, I decided to look for help, once and for all. I knew that going to a citizen won't help, so I went to a nearby church. Knock Knock The priest returned after an exorcism a few hours ago, as I could see that he was tired. "Hello?" I said. "And who are you, exactly?" The priest said. He didn't seem friendly, so I sat down on a nearby chair and told him about my experiences. Surprisingly, he didn't find me crazy, but believed me. "Bathsheba, huh?... It's not the first time someone called me for help. She's been doing this for centuries, even killing some of my ancestors." The priest said. I gulped. "Were any of those exorcisms successful? Did the people even survive?" I asked. "*sigh*" The priest sighed. "I wish. But she was a witch, and it's far beyond anyone's spiritual powers. She hanged herself and cursed anyone who stepped into her property. The people even tried to move out, but as my ancestor said "You can leave your house, but Bathsheba will definitely not leave you. Well, anyway. Why have you come here?" "I have been haunted by Bathsheba.. She killed my family, and she won't leave me until I'm dead." The priest looked at me, and I looked at him. I already knew he couldn't do anything, but he suggested something, something he never even suggested to his own ancestor. "I guess you can.. wait, no. It is too dangerous.." The priest hesitated to tell me. "sigh.. well, exorcisms can't be performed with her trying to ruin the ritual. And even if we immobilize her, she'll force her way out." "So what do I do?" I said, fearlessly. He gave me an address. "This. This is the address of the witch's mother, Mary Towne Eastey. She is claimed to be Innocent but died by Bathsheba's hands." The priest said. "She killed her?" I said. The conversation went for a few hours. The priest gave me a special necklace that claimed to protect me at least a little bit. Apparently, the mother's physical body died, but as a witch's mother, she is given access to the spiritual afterlife. She will look human. I walked through the forest, and from what I can see after seeing the house that the mother lived in, It was obviously bathsheba's doing. I knocked on the door, my heart was beating fast, but I just stuck to the goal. "Hello?" I said. I searched through the house. It was all ruined, the japenese-style doors ripped apart. Then I saw gray hair, and then the woman looked at me. It was a moment of silence. She didn't say anything. But I decided to talk first. "I need to talk about your daughter, Bathsheba.." The woman's eyes widened with fear, as she was trying to bury those memories into her grave and live a peaceful afterlife. "She is haunting me. And she won't stop until I'm dead." I said. .. It was still a moment of silence. Then she finally spoke up. "I cannot help you.." The woman said. "But.. you're an Itako, right? A Japenese exorcist?" The woman kept walking way, but I grabbed her hands, I was surprised that I was able to. Then I had a vision. And the woman already knew I was having a vision, so she told me the story. "People would come looking for me.. I drove the evil spirits out of them, and so did my daughter." The woman said. Blood comes out of their mouths during exorcism, and the woman takes the blood and let's Bathsheba drink it forcefully when she was still a child, making her a vessel for evil spirits "You made her like this." I said. "I didn't make her like this.. she was foolish. Her husband killed her for falling in love with another man.. It was not my fault." The woman said. "I.. I burnt her house down, but it didn't stop--" I said, before she cut me off. "This isn't about the house!.. You are just making things worse.. this is rage." The woman said. "She wants everyone to suffer the same way she did.." It was just.. silent after that. Then, the woman felt a presence, I could see that from her face's expression. "You.. you brought her here.." The woman fell on her back, and kept moving backwards in fear. Bathsheba suddenly appeared, but didn't look at me. She was walking towards her mother. Then crouched down and looked at her mother's eyes. After that.. Bathsheba disappeared. The mother disappeared too. I couldn't believe it.. My only help.. was killed by Bathsheba again.. The place started falling apart. I was paralyzed by fear, but when a plank of wood hit me on my head, I felt a headache, but I realized that everything was falling apart, so I ran out of the house. That woman died because of me.. anywhere I go, Bathsheba follows me there and kills anyone with me.. That means I'm the reason why my family died.. *In my dead friend's house.* "What is this... feeling?" his sister said when she suddenly woke up. End Of Chapter 3
