Steven Universe Character idea/Concept

This was an Idea I had for the Popular Television program Steven Universe, it was my own Characters that I came up with and I thought I’d share it with you guys. NOTE: I have not watched a lot of the cartoon, but i have read up about the Basic premises of the show, so please excuse anything i have missed.

These characters I call the Crystal Beasts, or Radiation beasts. These 3 are based off the Radioactive elements, Uranium, Neptunium and Plutonium. The Radiation trio did not come from the same homeworld as the Crystal gems did; Instead they originated from the Planet earth. How they were created was quite a Mystery, But the most Plausible explanation is that Natural and Artificial deposits of Crystallized Nuclear Energy came in Contact with the Energy force of the Crystal gems, causing them to Mutate and take on Monstrous forms. They are not Corrupted Gems however where they take on monstrous looks because of a Glitch or so. No, the forms they take on is there Natural look. Which we will get into Right now.



Uranium- Uranium is the Hound of three. Savage, cunning and most of all powerful. Uranium is categorized as a Male. His appearance I based off Dinosaurs, A mix of a Tyrannosaurus with the overall body structure, a Gigantosaurus with it’s sheer size, and a Spinosaurus with the Longer arms, I also took Inspiration from Godzilla with the Head crest and Dorsal spines. Being of nuclear origins, they output a fair amount of Radiation to its surroundings. Like the crystal gems, they too have their own Special power, Uranium’s Ability is that if he has enough Radioactive energy stored in him, He can concentrate it into a Single Light green laser that he fires out of his mouth.




Neptunium- Neptunium Is the literal tank of the group, immensely strong and overall large. I based Neptunium off a mosasaurus and I also took inspiration from Leviathan of Hebrew and Christian Mythology, His name is also a Reference to Neptune the Roman God of the ocean. Neptunium is a Force to be reckoned with, He can create Tidal waves with the Slap of his Fins, but he can also breach high out of the water, practically flying to catch airborne prey. Neptunium is slightly larger than the Blue whale, the largest sea mammal on earth. If Lapis Lazuli is the Gem of the Ocean, Neptunium is her Shadow counterpart. Where she can Control the Water, He can manipulate the Tides in his favor. Not many know of this Monster’s existence, but some say Neptunium originated from the Marianas Trench and has a huge hungering for Crystal gems.

So, I watched a bit of the show the other day and it wasnt too bad, but then it gave me another idea for a character i think would be awesome to see in the show.

From what I understand from the show, the Gems are fighting Some type of organization ran by beings who represent Diamonds, the rarest minerals on earth ,and they are great villains and all, But i thought it would be cool if i added this.


From how many minerals we have on earth, I wanted to choose one that i think would be great material for the show, This character i've made is so intimidating, So frightening that it would make gems like Yellow diamond cringe in fear just thinking about it. A threat that has never been witnessed by both Humankind and Gem-kind (If that's even a word.) and if it were to be seen, they would most certainly meet there fate.

His Glare can pierce your soul, His voice is like a Wrathful God, He is as ancient as the planet itself, Before the Gems, before Humanity. Able to bring down his Fiery rage at will. He's Nigh undefeatable, and whoever shall have the bravery to stand in his way will go down into history.

Know his name and Fear it. He is... Obsidian.

Alright, Time for a new one! This time i made a character that Isn't overpowered or Practically a God, but is still quite special compared to the other characters in the show. I based this character off of the Metal known as Titanium, Similar to Bismuth. Here is what ive come up with for this character. :)

Titanium is one of the few surviving Titans of the old, Manufactured by the Homeworld when they Visited earth. Titaniums kind were Made to be the toughest battle Gems out there, Able to withstand Weapons of many shapes and sizes. Their Golem-like appearance and Impressive stature makes them a Formidable foe indeed. When the Titanium gems were made however, One Stood up to the Cruel diamond's orders, and Attacked her. It was then pulverized by the other gems that followed her and was left to rot on earth. Fortunately, The remaining Titanium was still functional. He then took shelter in an Ancient temple near beach city and went into a deep slumber. As time passed, Parts of his body began to rust from Damage he took when the Diamond's henchmen took him down. To this day he still sits motionless inside the ancient tomb waiting for something to disturb his deep sleep, However it will be surprising when it happens to be a peculiar young boy with a Gem attached to his Abdomen that will one day encounter him.

Titanium is about 9 foot and 4 inches tall, Making him taller than Garnet or any of the other gems. Personality wise, Titanium has proven to be a Tough opponent But outside of battle he is considered a Big softie and is fascinated by the world around him.
