Qur'anic Verses that people misunderstood.

So basically, I don't blame some people for thinking that we are terrorists a lot of verses that may seem violent!
But, they are actually the opposite.

Let us begin!

1. The death penalty for leaving Islam

When i ever I think about this penalty, I just want to cry for some reason.
Apparently, extremists claim that the it is required to kill anyone who leaves Islam.

Not true, at all.

But those who reject faith after they accepted it, and then go on adding to their defiance of faith, never will their repentance be accepted; for they are those who have (of set purpose) gone astray. [Quran 3:90]

This verse right here, is very misunderstood. It doesn't say that we should kill the ex-muslims, but it simply says that God will not accept their repentance for rejecting their faith unless they truly mean it up and down!

2. We have to kill non-believers

People have the idea that we have to kill the non-believers.
Wrong again.

While ISIS has the idea to kill non-believers (yet somehow they also kill muslims..), it is actually not acceptable in Islam to kill anyone, from any religion or race.

"And We have not sent you but as a mercy to all the worlds." (Quran 21:107)
"There is no compulsion in religion…" (Quran 2:256)

Not only does Islam demand their freedom to practice religion, but also that they be treated justly as any other fellow human. Warning against any abuse of non-Muslims in an Islamic society, the Prophet stated:

"Beware! Whoever is cruel and hard on a non-Muslim minority, curtails their rights, burdens them with more than they can bear, or takes anything from them against their free will; I (Prophet Muhammad) will complain against the person on the Day of Judgment." (Abu Dawud)

3. We are required to be the enemies of Christians.

While even I believed this, It turns out it wasn't true.

The Qur’an assures Christians and Jews of paradise if they believe and do good works, and commends Christians as the best friends of Muslims.The Quran does not preach violence against Christians.
Quran 5:69 says (Arberry): “Surely they that believe, and those of Jewry, and the Christians, and those Sabeaans, whoso believes in God and the Last Day, and works righteousness–their wage waits them with their Lord, and no fear shall be on them, neither shall they sorrow.”

The reason why it commends that Christians alone are the best friends of Muslims is because we have a very strong connection with our beliefs. Jesus (Christianity) is named Isa (Islam), he is highly respected in both religions.

But since Muslims see him as a prophet, Christians don't really like muslims.
And since Christians worship Jesus, Muslims don't really like Christians.

Despite the fact the even the Qur'an is supportive of every religion.
