Aye, JWD here. So continuing with my book, Prove It. We are now on Chapter 4. Yayyyy. Hope you all enjoy! c: Chapter IV I laid there, not able to get up without feeling immense pain in my back. I tilted my head, and saw the creature that had attacked me. It was quite a strange creature. It resembled a lion, but it had a human shape. A lion in a humans form, if that makes sense. It was very large, at least 7 feet of pure muscle. It had razor sharp claws on both its hands, and feet. And there were two arrows in its head. One in its eye, and another in its forehead. I tried to scan my surroundings, maybe spot who, or what fired the arrows, but I couldn't tilt my head too far without my vision blurring. I could feel blood dripping from my back. The pain was unbearable. There was another gash on my wrist, but not nearly as severe. The one on my back had to be at least a few inches deep. I heard something move up in the trees. Something was definitely here. The question was, was it on my side? A figure dropped from the trees. I could make out long hair, green clothes, a bow and a quiver of arrows, and a belt with pouches along the waist. I heard a voice. It was soft, soothing, like water flowing down a gentle river. "Here, drink this. It will help." I felt a hand on my face as my mouth was opened, and a vial of some sort was stuck in my mouth. A cool liquid ran down my throat. It tasted amazing. It was like heaven was put into a jar and I got to drink it. I felt the wounds on my back burn, and then the pain subsided. My vision became clearer, and I finally had the energy to sit up. That's when I saw who had saved me. She was beautiful. That's all I could say. Her long brown hair was the same color as the grandest of oak trees, and it glowed with life. Her sparkling green eyes were entrancing. Her tan skin glowed as well. She wore a sleeveless green t-shirt, and some black hiking pants with dark green hiking boots. She wore a belt with numerous pouches around her waist. She had a quiver full of arrows slung over her shoulder, her bow right next to her. I just couldn't stop staring at her eyes. They were just so magical... "Hello? Are you okay?" I was snapped back to reality by her voice. It was so soothing, I wanted to fall asleep. "Wha? Oh, uh, yea. I'm alright." She laughed a bit. It was a cute laugh, just a little giggle. I felt my face getting hot. "So, did you come here for Potastatem?" She asked. "Uh, yea. How'd you know?" "Well, I've only seen a handful of people out here. They all give me the same story. Sent to prison, offered a quest, and now they're here." "Well, that's pretty much my story." "I figured." Her eyes fixed on my sword. "Oh my, is that, Lamina?""This?" I asked as I unsheathed my sword."Holy.. It is lamina. This is crazy.""Wasn't it used in past wars or whatnot?""Lamina has been used in so many wars. It's last wielder used it to slay the Draco Magne.""The what now?""Draco Magne. It was the most fierce evil known to Domum at the time, wreaking havoc an anything that stood in its way. But one hero defeated it, using that very sword.""Oh. I'm not really into Domum's history that much. I don't have time for it.""Domum has a rich history. You should learn more about it. For now, we should tend to that wound on your back." I had been so entranced by her, I had forgotten there was a gaping cut on my back. However, it didn't seem to hurt as much. "That liquid you gave me, did it do anything?" I asked. "That was Santum, a healing drink. It won't heal you completely, but it will help you heal much faster. Turn around, so I can see the cut." Reluctantly, I turned my body, revealing four gash marks going along my back, all of them over 6 inches long. "Wow, he got you good. Those cuts must've been at least a foot long and at least two or three inches deep before I gave you the Santum. They'll close fast, but there will be some pretty nasty scars there." I looked into her eyes again. They were so entrancing, they could stop the fiercest of wars. "So, do you mind telling me your name?" She asked."It's Ethan. Ethan Floyd.""Hm, Ethan. Alright. My name is Avianna. I'm a Naturitus, a spirit of nature.""Wait, so you're not human?""Not really, but I have a lot of human qualities. Although, I age four time slower than you humans do. I'm somewhere around 65 at this point, so in human years, I'm around 16 or so.""Avianna, that's a unique name.""Don't ask me why, ask my parents. Now, back on topic. The wounds in your back should close in a while, but the gash on your wrist should be fine." I took a look at my wrist. Sure enough, the cut was entirely gone, replaced by a white scar, which was quickly fading. "So, you said that you've helped multiple people on this quest?" I asked.Avianna sighed. "Yes. I've seen quite a few brave heroes die terrible deaths. It's quite hard, watching someone go like that." There was an awkward moment of silence. "So, how did you end up on Domum?" I asked. Avianna sighed again. "Long story. I don't want to bore you with my past. Maybe I should ask, how did you end up here?" It was my turn to sigh. I looked back to the entrance of the forest, and caught a tiny glimpse of daylight from the ocean. Carcere was long gone. "As you know, I was sent to prison. But, unlike other inmates that have been on this quest, I didn't commit the crime.""Really?""Yes. I know that sounds really stupid, but it's true. I was accused for blowing up the Great Sky Monument." Avianna's eyes widened, but she didn't say anything. "But, I had nothing to do with it. I didn't even know what the thing was even meant for until I was locked up." "Hmm.." Avianna muttered, clearly deep in thought. "Alright then." She pulled her quiver over her shoulder, and set it on the ground, but it wasn't just a quiver. It was also a backpack. The quiver was attached to it. She reached inside one of the pockets, and pulled out a rolled up t-shirt, and some more hiking pants. "You should put this on. That inmate suit won't do you any good now." She handed the clothes to me, and I hid behind a few trees to change. I pulled off the bloody and torn inmate suit, and pulled on the clothes that Avianna had given me. The hiking pants were more comfortable than I thought they would've been. The t-shirt was just a plain green t-shirt, nothing special about it. I stroked some hair away from my eyes, and walked out from behind the tree to meet Avianna. "You look great." She said. "Shall we go?" I want to clarify something. There will not be any love interest between Ethan and Avianna. I mean, Avianna isn't human, so it wouldn't really work That's it. Thanks for reading, and have a good day ^.^
