So some people requested a video of me reciting my own poem... at my school's annual talent show. @gaminggoblin @Xenohs @Jimmiee @BlabDaFish So I got the video my friend took. Enjoy. :) Lol, I was sooo nervous. I don't really do public speaking. Anyway. The actual text of the poem is below. Enjoy. :) Northern California Coast Five miles apart in all directions, Civilization, parted, by all but perfection. The highway divides The rolling yellow hills And the treed cliffsides, Where fog and wind thrust their wispy chills. The redwoods, I stand just after them. All but silence permeates nature’s hem. I see the froth crash upon wetted sands, Making a distant noise. Boulders bear the brunt of the sea’s demands, In their harmonious relationship, though not by choice. Millions of years in the making, Mother Nature’s masterpiece is living, breathing, moving, flowing. Superficial is it to say “Nice view,” as most would do, So I don’t. No cars pass the ridge of these coastal enclaves. I allow myself to hear my heart and its beat, loud and true, Until it slows to the rhythm of the breeze, the rushing waves.
Very nice poem! The screeching those people made once you finished it sounded crazy like they was watching a horror film or something haha
