Okay well, first of all, If you think I'm doing this to get attention from people or whatever, feel free to leave the thread. I wanted to make this thread to point out something which have been going through my mind for a long time now. I've been thinking about this, and thought I should finally come out with this. Thanks to @Safoya and some other friends which I've told about this, I finally felt like I'm not scared to tell this. I'm Muslim. I haven't told or anything to anyone for the next reasons: People don't like the religion due to the fact that they think all Muslims are Terrorists. People can easily dislike religions for reasons The thing just is that I felt like people would talk to me differently, lose friends very fast and all that. But that's just how I am, and I won't change that. I hope you guys will understand my choice of religion and that you guys won't hate me for it and hopefully this chapter will continue or it will be a beginning of a new chapter.
#muslimbuddies but really, proud of you for it. I know how racist people can be. but really, the only terrorist I know is @Loling
It's very brave that you're telling this. And I hope no ones judges you. I don't care what religion you're, you'll be sell :p P.s At first, when I met you (Like when i saw your face) I thought you were Muslim, and was gonna ask you. But I'll feel stupid if I did.
I don't think religion, what sexuality you are or anything defines anyone here. Everyone is different. About terrorists and Muslims. I do see that a lot of people that are terrorists are Muslims, but that doesn't mean that every Muslim is a terrorist, that's just what some groups are and that makes everyone think that the whole religious group gets targeted for it. That's wrong. Congrats Sellz. It was brave of you to say this.
I can't tell if this thread is sarcastic, or? If not sarcastic, uh, good on you? There are lot's of Muslim people, even here. If it is, still WAT
Why would it be sarcastic? It's scary saying stuff like this or coming out with your sexuality because you want people to know yet you are afraid you will be judged.
Religion is only bad if you impose it on others, like Christians on gay marriage. It doesn't change anything. I'm atheist, does that mean you hate me for not being Muslim? No, then why should I hate you for being Muslim? It doesn't change who you are Sel, and if anyone treats you differently now they were never a good friend to begin with.
don't exclude me ;n; im muslim too Seriously though, good job on you making this. In my neighborhood, some people criticize me because I'm Muslim and say I'm the next leader of ISIS. It's harsh out there.
Good job Sel on coming out about this. Honestly, people this generation are selfish about religion "Just because you're this, you suck, blah blah blah" It's so stupid.
I'm happy that you were willing to share this, but it really makes me sad that people think that their friends here would judge them for this type of thing. If you think your friends would judge you for something like religion, sexuality, gender, or anything else that might be personal, you might want to re-think who you consider your friends. Sel, religion changes nothing about how I see a person, and you're not an exception.
First of all, I'm not making fun of coming out threads. A lot of people find that Muslims are apart of terrorism, and all that. Because of that I felt I would've gotten hate for following the religion where people kill people for no reason. (Btw, ISIS and all those are no muslims.) And like I said at the beginning of the thread: If you think I'm doing this for attention, then feel free to leave it.
Terrorists are extremists. Just because you are a Muslim, that doesn't make you an extremist. I don't understand the logic behind racist people but ok.
Good job for having the guts to admit this, it really sucks how people judge you based off of religion. And if your friends stopped being your friend because your Muslim, then i wouldn't really think of them as friends. True friends support other friends no matter what about them is different.
I see why people would respond to the Islamic faith to be somewhat connected to terrorism, but that's mainly only extremist beliefs. I feel that people should be allowed to believe what they believe, unless it's not extreme to the point where you kill people for your god. people these days are stupid to think that all muslims are terrorists, but i guess that's just our generation. Congrats, Sel. :)
