So I've noticed that certain people (@Killjoy) have a very good taste in music and I just kinda wanted people to share really good music. Yes, I am aware that there is a thread created for people to share their favorite song but this is more of a place to discuss music. So, share away.
www.soundcloud.com/tropical-house My personal page where I just hit 100 followers. All of my favorite music is in my stream.
Since this is a discussion, might as well discuss music. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about. Well, throughout my entire life I've loved music. Probably about 7 years old. There's a lot that goes into, and a lot one artist/band has to endure. Like, fandoms(internet in general), politics, the press, and so much more. But I'm sure most artists are not in it for the money, but in it for the music itself and pleasing others. I mean, that's my outlook. I want to make music to help people, for the true passion of making it. There's a lot that goes into the actual music, guitar, piano, vocals, percussion, vox, etc. A lot of people categorize music, such as "emo". Emo technically means emotional, and if music didn't have emotion; It would just be beats that have no meaning. In my opinion music shouldn't be put into categories, every piece of music (song) is different in it's own little way. Even if it's a cover. We all have different "tastes" but there's something pure about those people who really listen to music. I mean get into it, etc. Not have it just for background sound. Someone who listens to the lyrics and really understands the meaning of it. Not saying that people who listen to it for background music are bad, I just see something pure about the people who really listen to it. Getting into the actual music, alright. Of course I like My Chemical Romance. Others bands/artists I like, Panic! at the disco, Morrisey, FrnkIero and the cellabration, The Grimes, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Misfits, Blink-182, Foxygen, Sleater-Kinney, BMTH, PTV, SWS, Fall Out Boy, 21 pilots, Electric Century, The Young Veins, Death Spells, The Brobecks, The Arctic Monkey's, and so on. If you want to know more, you may go ahead and ask me. I enjoy sharing music with others. Music has greatly impacted my life, as it may for many others. This is the song that got me started, it means a lot to me. I found out about it in 2006. It was actually My Chem's first song. Gerard wrote it a few days after 9/11 had happened. Well, I could really go on; not sure if you guys have the time to hear my ramble on about music. well, bye. if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
So, what are we supposed to be discussing? I'll just say that my 5 favorite bands/artists are They Might Be Giants (In 2 months, I will go to my first concert, which is them), Mono Puff, Presidents of the United States of America, Nirvana, and Weird Al Yankovic. I have weird music. If you're wondering who TMBG and Mono Puff are, TMBG are the ones who sing the theme for Malcolm In The Middle, and Mono Puff doesn't sing anything famous. Also, if you're wondering who POTUSA is, they sing "Peaches" (Moving to the country, going to eat a lot of peaches)
