mob grinder

    I jut built a canal mob grinder, but mobs dont spawn. Its about 25 blocks tall, made out of cobble, it has 4 hoppers at the bottom. I buit it base off this design -->
    can anyone tell me why mobs dont spawn?

    Make sure theres no light in it. Like theres no holes in it or torches.
