Thank you Jose Fernandez and all your contributions to the game. He was only 24 and had a Hall of fame career ahead of him. His wife has an unborn baby. He defected from Cuba to be able to play in the MLB and the fact that he was very successful here, was amazing. He saved his grandmother from drowning and brought joy to his family and the fans of the Miami Marlins. The game today was cancelled. Tears are forming while I make this because it's really surreal that he is gone, one of the top five pitchers in today's game before his passing. His slider was absolutely nasty. Prayers go out to Marlins organization, José's family and friends, and other baseball fans that followed José. Edit: the all-star game is in Miami next year. Omg man, that's even worse. http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/mp4/2016/09/25/1187149783/1474824017032/asset_2500K.mp4 http://m.marlins.mlb.com/news/article/203272064/marlins-statement-on-jose-fernandez/ http://m.marlins.mlb.com/news/article/203296758/marlins-mourn-loss-of-jose-fernandez/
It actually shocks me that I went to one of the last games he started at, like wow. This guy was one of the best pitchers in the national league. My thoughts go out to the Marlins, his family/friends and people whom followed him. I can't believe he's gone.
Anything can happen at any time... Jose will be missed. One of the best young pitchers of this generation, he had so much left in him. Only 24 and already was starting to have a fantastic career. Rest in peace, you are dearly missed. :/
It's so tragic when a great young player loses his life at such a young age... I was really looking forward to watching this kids career. He was on his way to great things. Rest in Paradise Jose
My friend is huge into baseball and hadnt heard the news yet, and when I had to be the one to tell him it honestly made me feel bad for all the people who love and respect him as a player. I dont watch baseball myself, but I know how this has an impact on many people. Rest in peace Jose Fernandez.

"The brightest lights always extinguish the fastest..." Will be missed by all baseball fans. Brings back memories of Oscar Taveras and Nick Adenhart. Lost a legend yesterday. RIP Jose Fernandez July 31 1992 - September 25 2016.
this was actually very sad, being a baseball player myself, seeing my pitcher die, who is actually my best friend is actually tragic... may god bless his family
