I will first put the list in the first post, then I will explain in the following post how this is going to work.

Do not post in this thread except to state who you are going to Mentor/Apprentice to. Both parties must post so I have confirmation before I will list. Please direct -all- other comments to the link I will have posted below this notice. Please note that I will ahve a number before the name of each individual allowed to mentor, showing how many total they are allowed. Count how many they have presently to see if they have a free slot.

Alright, before we begin, just to make two terms clear:
Player always refers to non-staff players in this post.
Staff always refers to staff members int his post.

    ~Setup~
To get started, all that has to happen is a valid pair have to agree to it and post that fact on this thread. Please don't do this too easily. Take your time and be sure your up to the challenge.

    ~Limits~
In order to maximize the number of people who benefit from this, while also maximizing the quality of this help, a few limits will be in place.
-No more than 3 Apprentices per Mentor.
-A Player can only be mentored by the same Mentor for 2 months at a time. So make this count!
-A Player may jump from one Mentor to another at the end of their 2 month period. So you can get many points of view!
-A Player may not be mentored by the same Mentor inside of a 2 month period. This means at the end of the first 2 months, you must take a 2 month break.
-A Player may not be mentored by the same Mentor more than a grand total of 2 times grand total. (That means a total of 4 months.)
-We will be trying to circulate Staff members being mentored by other Staff members to maximize understanding of different points of view on staff, however no limits will be set, as we use this system on the staff level as a sort of team building tool.
-A Player cannot be a mentor unless they seriously prove themselves. This is treated as almost as serious of a position as a helper, as you are helping influence the rest of the community in a way. This is obviously a risky position and won't be allowed lightly.

    ~Purpose~
The purpose of the Mentor/Apprentice system is to facilitate learning and understanding between individuals on both a personal level, and on matters of the server rules. This is one more way to help clean up the community by spreading awareness and understanding and promoting greater mutual understanding and knowledge.

Punishing rule breakers is all well and good, and so is posting more clear and easily understood rules. Even using programmed systems to help guide Player behavior and break various ways to break the rules, is all good. We intend to do those. But the best tool of all for helping a community grow healthier is to promote greater mutual understanding and an understanding of the rules and exactly why they exist.

Giving you an understanding that is on par with what you'd normally expect from staff members helps you understand just exactly what you can and cannot do and allow you to more easily navigate without problems. It will also allow you to give better reports that are more likely to get a positive response. You can also use this as a system for new players to learn more about the server, or the game, to help get better at it. (So for Players, not only can this help with understanding our rules, or becoming a better person, but you can also use this to learn the game itself better from someone who has been proven to be experienced and acknowledged by the staff as such!)
