So, uhh. Having owned a membrane and mechanical keyboard for the period of time I have owned a pc. I have wondered, what do you guys think is better? Mechanical keyboard or membrane, If mechanical, what switch? And should I switch my Cherry mx blue keyboard for something like a cherry mx brown or speed switches on the k70 Rapidfire RGB? Just wanted opinions :)
Mechanical keyboards are definitely more fun for gaming, but if you're an average user, there's no reason to get them. And yes, you should definitely switch to the Cherry MX Browns. I have them and they're the best switches in my opinion. The Blues sound incredibly annoying.
They are after a period of time using, Its quite hard to type early in the mornings/late at nights because of the click they make everyime you press a key. So.. Yeah, probably gonna switch to a more quieter switch ahaha.
They're pretty useless. Some say they make you type faster or more accurately because of the "tactile feedback", but I type just as fast on a membrane keyboard. (My record on 10fastfingers.com is around 175 WPM) I still use a mechanical keyboard though because it "feels nicer" to type on, but it doesn't make me type better or faster.
Yeah, I mean I find to type faster on mechanical keyboards because of the feedback I get from the switches but, I mean. The blue switches get really annoying after.. 20 minutes of typing and yeah, I just wanted to see how people thought about mechanical keyboards as the topic is very debatable as in "They make you type faster."
sometimes i feel like im the only person that thinks a keyboard is just a keyboard and a mouse is just a mouse skskakka like im not gonna pay extra money bc it has "gaming" infront of it but idk. im very uneducated in the gaming realm.
Well, sometimes keyboards bring you an advantage because, they have less force to register a keystroke and the same for mouses and DPI shifts mid-game. Idk, its quite complicated to explain but maybe ill explain to you later in a skype or something ahah
They just have a bunch of small features and are sometimes more comfortable. Other than that, they're not giving you an advantage...
tbh my macbook keyboard does just as good as my Razer Blackwidow so I don't get the whole hype about them lol
