Tips on Making a Good Staff Application

Hello, I am JeromeAlbert. I want to share some of my tips on making a good staff application. First of all, I will talk on what to do and what not do do before writing an application. First of all, you have to ask yourselve questions.

Would I like to help people on this server?

This is what you have to ask yourself first. The job of a helper on ItsJerryAndHarry is mostly to help people. If you are the kind of people who finds noobs annoying or that doesn't like answering questions, then I would think twice before making an app.

Am I ready to perform the duties a helper has to do?

This is the most important one. Most people, I'm not saying all of them, applies without knowing the hard job a helper has to do. A helper has to:
    Perform moderation duties (warn people);
    Help people with their questions;
    Be really active on each part of the server;
And a lot of other stuff.
Before applying, I would suggest loking at some helpers, ask them some questions about their job, and then if you are ready to do what they do, apply.

Am I mature enough and do I fit for the spot?

Before applying, you have to ask yourself if you are mature enough to perform the job AND if you fit for it. To see if you are, here are some possible scenarios a helper would have to do. If you are capable of solving them, then you surely are fitting for the spot:
You see 2 players arguing. Player 1 accuses player 2 of being rude to him, whereas player 2 has the reverse idea.
Credit to @XenonHD for this scenario.
Player 1 and Player 2 are in an argument. Player 1 accuses Player 2 of hacking whilst Player 2 thinks Player 1 is hacking. What do you do to resolve the argument?
    Credit to @XenonHD again xd
A player demands that you give him the rank he paid for, and got not proof. How would you react?

And now, we will go straight to the tips on how to do a good application!

    Detail

Be as detailed as possible when writing a staff application. Write full sentances.
    Examples:
    Age: 14
    NOT right

Age: I am fourteen years old.
    RIGHT

Also, write whole paragraphs on the personnal questions section. That will definitely increase your chances of becoming a staff member. Do not write one-sentances paragraphs on the personnal questions.

Don't know what to put more as information? You can try to add more supporting evidence to your information! Although, if you really can't find anything and your application is really detailed, you do not need to add more information.

    Color

Put some color in your application. Do not put bright colors and limit yourself to two colors.
    Examples:
In-Game Name: My Minecraft username is JeromeIsHotdog.
    NOT right

In-Game Name: My Minecraft username is JeromeIsHotdog.
    RIGHT

Bold your questions, unbold your answers.

This is by far one of the most suggested thing on applications, and it is one of the most important.
In your applications, you need to bold your questions and unbold your answers. If you do not like to do this, what I like to do is put your question a different colour and underline it.

    Examples:
In-Game Name: My minecraft username is JeromeIsHotdog.
    NOT right

In-Game Name: My minecraft username is JeromeIsHotdog.
    RIGHT

In-Game Name: My minecraft username is JeromeIsHotdog.
    ALSO right

    Write original and unique answers

Do not make your application like the other ones. Do not copy parts from other applications. Try to blow staff away when they will read your application.

    Be honest

Be honest when you write an answer. Do not lie about some parts in your app, especially your age. Know that staff have ways of knowing if you are lieing about your age or not. This is the reason of scenarios and other stuff.

    Think before you write

Very important. When you write 'Why do you want to become helper' and 'Why should we choose you' think about this:

Why do me, *insert your name here*, I want to become helper on this minecraft server?

Why do me, *insert your name here*, I fit for the staff spot?

That will definitely help, and it also fits a little be in the "Be Honest" section.

That's all I have to say for today! Good luck with your future staff applications. I really hope this helped you :).

Slight thing in my opinion: IGN is In Game Name, not IGN=My minecraft name is <player>
but good job. this does apply to most beginners and people. I agree.

I attempted to make a post just like this.
@Caity ended up closing it for a legitimate reason.

Hello Jerome, I see that you want to try and help the community when it comes to making Staff applications. Thing is, this is mostly common sense and is stuff from the 'application guidelines' which comes along with the format. As much as we appreciate it, we personally believe that if the applicant's cannot do these simple stuff such as use the correct format and being honest, they simply aren't suited for Staff. Also, I'm pretty sure that the Staff want applications which are good on their own without any sort of tips and advice. Once again, thanks for trying to help the community Jerome.
Correction, it's @_Magical that locked your thread, not Caity. Anyway,

    Locking now, /c.
