I find the player of the week by looking at the news stories that I post, and I pick a story that was either the most important or the most funny. Sometimes I will pick player of the week by looking at who did the most helpful thing this week. Sometime I will end up messaging active people on the website, including some staff, and I will ask them "Who do you think should be the player of the week? Choose anybody, but yourself and me."

That is a good question. Technically the answer is "no" but if you think you have a story that is newsworthy, message me on the website or email me at calebthekidmc@gmail.com and I will give you credit for it the following Saturday. If you want to become a "full time reporter", I will probably make that a job someday but for now, you can message me. Great question though! I like answering these types of questions. :D
