Hey peoples, This is a thread addressing the current talk about our favorite game Minecraft, Most people I have come across believe that our beloved game is slowly fading out of our minds. Despite what people believe, I personally think Minecraft is Far from dead. Here's my First example on Why.

Thanks to a Video posted by AntVenom, He goes into the details about Sales, Google references and so on.

Now for my personal opinion on the Matter, No. i do not believe minecraft is dead, not even the slightest. There is so much Indisputable proof about the Game's success even to this day in 2016. It has won Countless Awards, Made many spin off games and even won several Guinness world record titles. It's considered one of the Best selling PC/Smartphone video games of all time. AntVenom's video goes into further detail about that.

If Minecraft really was dead, we would be seeing a LOT less sales, and a lot less people talking about it. Minecraft has been around for a long time and i do not think its going to phase out of our minds anytime soon.

NOTE: Please be civil in this discussion and Keep Joke posts and troll posts out of this thread please. I would also like no hostility between other forum members. :)

That's mostly the case, Most people i have been around who say that are mostly younger kids or Teenagers, And it is Common knowledge that Most people like that are usually at that point where they think that playing these types of games is childish.

The general public is getting bored of the game, I know my friends and I have. For the online mini games the servers have, I can play that in other games, with an actual incentive. And a lot of friends have bought Cities Skyline to replace Minecraft as their game for creativity. I could write a lot more, but I will save the points for counter arguments, as I don't feel like writing much now.

It's not dieing, and it isn't going to for a while. Heck, I don't like it as I used to but it's not dieing. Just more and more older players of the game may be leaving...because they've lost interest. Like, I've been playing this game for 4-5 years..and others longer.

Minecraft isn't the same to me, it's a whole ton more complex than it used to be and that can be a good and bad thing. It's just...not dieing, but it's...just different for me.

Minecraft is a Changing game, New things come in and the old ones leave, That's usually how it goes. But Minecraft has been bigger than it;s ever been, It's literally a Household name.

Minecraft itself in general isn't dying. The player count on this server is decreasing, and that's why everyone jumps to the conclusion that the whole game is dying.

Edit: That sounds really negative, and I don't mean to point fingers or literally say "this server sucks" because it genuinely doesn't. I'm just being real about it.

minecraft isnt dying. there is so many servers that have a great player count and are always active, but this server itself is going downhill. sure, people leave minecraft all the time. school is a huge factor, but people also lose interest in this game because lets be honest, the game itself gets pretty boring sometimes.

minecraft as a whole isn't dying, we're all good for now.

The server is definitely dying at a slow rate. The golden age of Minecraft (especially Minecraft on youtube) has ended, and quite a few people have stopped playing. I wouldn't say it's dying because of that though. Minecraft has so many players and the game is still being updated so... A lot of people may choose not to play on multiplayer as well, especially with Realms.

Yes, I thought Minecraft was dying earlier. I quit for a year and a few months, but recently I have gotten more "into" Minecraft. A lot of people think it is dying, when it really is not.

    Hmm interesting question.

In reality, yes I do think that MC is dying.

People are getting sick of it, and many dislike the path that Mojang is heading down. Compared to say two years ago, I know way less people that play Minecraft then I do now.

For many multiplayer is the last resort so to speak , and that is begining to be dominated by large networks, gobbling up the players and generally becoming less fun for the players on the smaller networks (who generally have a greater proportion of older (in both age and length of time playing) players). In addition to that, singleplayer is becoming complex (which in some ways is a good thing) which results in a lot of the older players becoming disillusioned with the game, and therefore leaving.

So to rephrase my earlier statement, Minecraft certainly is still appealing with the new (and younger) player bases that are coming across it, but it is failing when it comes to player retention.

Edit: this is specificly about the PC edition, PE and Console are as good as ever

    PE is getting better, true.

Minecraft is dying in a way, in the sense that people are losing interest.

Though the old players go and the new players come, all things will come to an end and Minecraft has to die at some point.

You do have a valid point, Like what AntVenom said in his video, Out with the old and in woth the new, Minecraft is an ever so changing game, and its bound to get new players as time goes on, But i get what you mean by Player retention.

Even though i dont agree with some things Mojang does with the game, I do not believe it is a dying game, However i respect your opinion on the matter.

Minecraft won't die for a long time, the community is slightly decreasing due to the amount of hackers in the game itself, though I've noticed that Mojang/Microsoft blocked lots of VPNs. So if a hacker tries to log on with an alt on a vpn it won't work. This won't be enough though. The hackers would be gone if every server had GCheat (One of the greatest AC' ofcourse). I'm noticing lots of hackers on ItsJerryandHarry's kitpvp. I'm playing less kitpvp cause of that but I still duel. Now these days I just go on SG and chat with other people. People that say that they're 'grown up' to play Minecraft, is wrong. I know friends of mine (over their 20-30s) and they still play Minecraft and enjoy it! It's cause they are playing in a slightly more mature community in Minecraft. You'll all have heard of Tekkit and FTB. That's their playground. The majority of the players there are mature. Overall the game won't die for a couple years or even 10 years. As long as there are popular Youtubers that upload Minecraft. The game will still stay relevant cause Youtube can attract some players into playing the game. Lots of people leave and join the game monthly which keeps the game in balance hopefully. Minecraft won't die either cause of the content, so many mods and plugins are in the game to keep the game intresting and there are lots of mods and plugins being made daily. Till the creativity and all ideas run out, Minecraft will slightly die. Since this new EULA came out I see lots of servers dying and shutting down cause they can't financially support themselves as much as they did before the new EULA. Servers you'll like will shutdown in a matter of time. Even J&H can die if they don't get that many donations. I hope J&H finds a good way to profit while keeping a good reputation to the new EULA. The only servers that won't shutdown by the new EULA is probably Hypixel and the other minigame servers. They do a great job cause the donator doesn't get an overall advantage, for example: a donator buys a booster for xp, you'll get your exp boosted too cause he's in your game. That was it

This text looks pretty long but if you're really intrested in this topic you should read it for my opinion and how I see Minecraft in dying.

Honestly, PC Minecraft is old, so many people grow out of it, including myself. Tbh, not even mods can really get me to want to play anymore.

Too many YouTubers think it's funny to joke about the Monecraft community being full of pedophiles and child predators which is not very funny due to the fact that the "pedophiles" were never convicted. Secondly Minecraft is seen as this game that cringe worthy 11 year olds play so many popular YouTubers have given Minecraft a bad name so people have been jumping onto retardation banwagons.

Sadly, People do think this and it's really a shame. But in the end the people who think that are seriously in the wrong here.

To be fair though, i believe there is way more good in the Minecraft community than there is bad. It's just the bad seems to get looked at a Lot more as people are suckers for pain or need something to laugh at. :P

My advice is stick to the good side of the Minecraft gaming community, You will surely meet a lot of great people. :)
