Got permission from staff to make this thread First thread with my new forum name, #silentlyhighfivesmyself Hey guys, Fawn/Vai here As you probably know, the image size limit for avatars on this forum is 50KB, and most images are way larger than that. I found a great way to enormously decrease the image size without losing quality, and since I assumed lots of people here struggle with the problem of resizing, I've decided to share this with you guys. Side-yet-important note: my computer settings are on Hebrew, I apologise if it confuses anyone. Though, most of the icons are the same and every file/icon is on the same place as other languages, so it won't be that hard to follow this guide if your computer is on a different language (apologising for my bad English at the same time). First of all, get the image you want, I'll use this one for example The size? 452KB. No way I will manage to change my avatar to it; Now let's move to the actual part where we reduce the size. Right click the image, and click on "Send to" and then click on "Mail recipient" (I assume this is what it's called in English) Now, if you don't already have an email account saved to your computer, create one. It takes just a few seconds to add your email to your computer. If you do have an account, this window will appear: The text next to the "230KB" says: "estimated size". Though, it comes out much smaller, so you don't have to touch this setting. Just click on "Add" (the button that is framed in blue on my computer) After you clicked on "Add", this window will appear (if it doesn't appear wait a few seconds, maybe it just takes a little for it to load) : See this image file where it shows the attached files? Yep, it's 40KB. We just resized the image in 412 KB. Click on it and drag it to your desktop/anywhere you like, and close the email window. Final result: We resized the image in more than 400KB and the quality didn't change. I hope this helps, good luck!

Or do it as I do it. Upload to anything, tinypic.com works for me. Get a device, phone, ipad, etc etc. Download picture from tinypic. Upload. Works every time.
