Hello guys :) So it's the time of the year again that I have exams (rip) and I need to focus on studying. I also my big english exam coming up (if I pass exam I will get my degree on english so basically I'll be an english master, ok jk but I will get a degree on english). So for years now I couldn't focus on 1 thing. Not like I didn't want to but I COULDN'T. One of my worst habits is procrastinating and I really really want it to stop. I do things at the last second and it's a really bad habit to have, trust me. Anyway I would like some tips from you guys on how to get focus on things. Some people smoke marijuana to get focused, some people take pills but I have none of those (I mean I could get weed if I wanted but I don't want to XD). I noticed that I'm a little more focused when I drink tea or coffee. So apart from those things I mentioned above, do you guys have any other tips for me? How do you focus? Long replies are very welcome. Thanks for reading c: Love, Kate
I made a thread about this whole subject here You might wanna check it out if you haven't already but if it doesn't help just let me know and I'll try to think of something else to help
I revise and study outside so I focus more and that seems to work for me- I also suggest getting rid of or hiding any distractions like phones/tablets so you are completely focused on the work at hand (: I also listen to music like the above said
At the times when I do revise for tests, I ask my mum to take away my laptop, phone *unless needed for google* and any other distractions so I can focus. And I might listen to music using the ancient IPod. Hope this helps and good luck on ur tests :)
I have the same issue pls but I usually get all of lower priorities done before I start, like eating a meal then checking the forums and doing whatever I would normally do if I'm not doing school work, and once that's out of the way I usually just turn off my distractions. It takes a lot of will for me sadly, but you gotta do what ye gotta do. I usually have something to eat, like crackers or smth but I also take breaks, like one after each subject as a "reward". Good luck Kate!!! c:
Chewing gum helps me focus because I'm busy chewing and not thinking of anything else. But you may not be allowed to chew gum.
One thing that helps me focus is knowing that a game doesn't really affect us in the long run. In reality, when we play a game, all we're basically doing is changing code on a server or within your computer. I just repeat this to myself that playing a game or interacting with people isn't top priority, and it can wait. Your school work does matter, and it will get you somewhere in life. Your online social media and experience can always be set back to a later time :) I know it seems original, boring, but hopefully it counts! -Sirius
I procrastinate a lot too and I can't study for long periods of time. After studying for a couple of hours or so, I will take a short break so I can clear my mind off things.
