WARNING: Colorful vocabulary featured in this post! Hey guys! Lately, with every argument and flamed debate going on, I finally located the cause. The cause, is you. Now, not ALL of the readers, but most. Let me explain. The straight-forward reasons these happen, is because of arrogance, or the belief and mindset that you are 'all that'. Or, in this case, that you are always right. This leads to ignorance, where you are not educated and compatible, or you're not willing(which just makes you stubborn). To sum up this part of the problem, People are too stubborn to comply with another's ideas, and they believe that they are right. No exceptions asked. The effect of arrogance on someone is that it makes them feel like they have the right to autonomy, or the idea that they do not have to converse with an official or member on what to do. And trust me, at first it seems good; but later, you ask,"Man, I shouldn't have . . ." But, there's more. I also noticed something else, that is . . . worrying. (Sigh) I guess there is no beating around the bush. I noticed a lot of flagrance. Flagrance, in this case, is being purposely hateful to others. There were a ton of events that truly had flagrance mixed with arrogance; which, is the worst combination of all. Basically, the person is not accepting the ideas of another, believing they are right, and are obvious in their offensive opinions against their opposition. How to solve this? Well, be open minded. Remember, every post is from a really real person. Really. Also, think of how your post may affect your audience, and try not to offend them. Get your diction right. And finally, keep some opinions for private conversations. That's all I have to say! Have a nice day, Perc, Leader of Equestrian Ghosts
Yeah, I see you have a point Unfortunatelly, it's not that easy to change this place Many tried, many failed. People really have to grow up, and stop being this arrogant (I was one, so sorry). but hey, anything is possible
yes, the community is falling and we can do something to change it but there are things that are hard to change so as finn said anything is possible so we need to gain some friendship towards others and make this community a better place to be in, somewhere where a new-comer can join and be happy that they have been accepted into the community
It's not too late to turn this forum around but if it keeps going the way it is, it will surely self destruct.
You know, sometimes I think one of the reasons our community is messed up is because we overreact way too much. "The forums is falling" "So many flame wars" Stuff like this doesn't help, it ,just causes more trouble. So many of the so called "flame wars" were in fact just small arguments that ironically stemmed from people overreacting to flame wars. To sum it up, if you really want to help improve the forums, screaming about our "inevitable doom" won't help.
True. Also your old avatar was this: Apparentaly it is some guy shaving himself in the shower listening to music with whipped cream. Wow xD
You know, you're right. The forums at this state aren't falling apart like we think. Yes, things have gotten crazier, with an influx of new people we have to now form good and bad relationships with. There will be trolls, those annoying people who won't mature, people who complain, et cetera (note: none of those represent people in this community, well one of them...) They're part of every community. All we need to do is calm down. Personally, I don't like these kind of threads, unless an admin or moderator is trying to tell us we are doing something wrong. They seem to ruin the point of a public forum, which the point is... to chat. We are here to sit back, grab a nice drink and talk about the server(Being for a server reports have to be made), real life, and other things. These threads put everybody on edge, making sure they count the amount of letters they put and make people ponder on whether they should hire a professional proofreader to make sure they don't accidentally send off they right message. It's not like this threads are bad, they just defeat the purpose of a forum, maybe it's just me.
Personally, I hate threads that people rant on. This thread, I tried not to rant. I stated a known problem, gave a discovered reason, and gave the solution. Now, it is the option of the viewer to follow them. But, other threads I've seen, they don't give a solution. But, here, atleast the public knows what is causing this, and how it can easily be solved.
Since when did anyone state that three days is bumping? Also, you are allowed to bump, as long as it isn't excessive.
^^^ There's a good example. You guys are getting into an off topic argument just because you have different ideas on how bad the length of a bump is. Funny, because the thread talks about accepting the ideas of others.
