How to get Minecraft Forge mods to work

A while ago I showed people the doge mod, which requires forge 1.6.4 or 1.7.2. HOWEVER, some people get their minecraft crashed.
Yes, I have experience with this, and I was very frustrated. I thought it was because of my mac, maybe it couldn't be modded? Now I have shaders, MCCapes, DamageIndicators and AnimatedPlayer

How do you get these to work?

1.- Download the version of forge you want, make sure it is compatible with the version of the mod you want to download. What does this mean? This means that if you want to download a mod that is for 1.6.4, you have to download Forge version 1.6.4. If it's for 1.7.2, you have to download Forge version 1.7.2.

2.- Now that you have your Forge installer, open up Forge and select "Install client". Then click on "OK" and it should install some files that support your mods.

3.-Download your mod, and make a mods folder where your minecraft folder is. If you already have one, then drag your mod java/zip file into the mods folder, and do the same if you just created your mods folder.

That's what they all say, it doesn't work!

Make sure that if you have multiple mods in the same folder that they are compatible with the same version as your forge. This means that if you have a mod file that supports 1.6.2, and another one supporting 1.7.2, and your forge is 1.7.2, your minecraft will crash, ALL the mods need to be the same version.

    Tips
If your minecraft crashes and you still have followed these rules, make sure you downloaded all the requirements of the mod for it to work.

[!]Some mods do not support Forge. If they don't, DO NOT follow these steps, as these steps tell you how to install/get FORGE mods to work.[!]
