I've been experiencing so much FPS drop in my old PC, which was such a pain in the butt. After I've read a few guides on how to increase FPS, my minecraft wasn't so laggy anymore since I fixed the FPS. If you don't know what's FPS, it means Frames Per Second. This can affect your gameplay and/or your recordings. 1.Optifine. This mod really helps in your computer. Even if it's quite slow, if can definitely help in many kinds of ways. This is one of the most popular mods out there, in the minecraft community. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/249637-125-optifine-hd-a6-fps-boost-hd-textures-aa-af-and-more/ 2.Update your Java to the latest version. This really helps. It can make your minecraft experience to wayyy faster while updating your java. Do it if it isn't updated yet. It can really help you. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html 3. LWJGL. Update your Minecraft bin with the new version. Do it. Trust me. Think of it as Unreal Engine or Frostbite 2.0 or something. Here is a tutorial on installation. (drag and drop) http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Tutorials/Update_LWJGL 4. Different Browser Sizes. You can either leave MC in it's original size or make it even smaller, which improves FPS significantly. Or turn down the screen resolution to its lowest setting in Optifine and play in fullscreen. 5.Tiny Render Distance/Smooth Lighting Off. This can extremely help. This can make sure that you don't encounter those deadly lag spikes while playing. The render distances makes the lag spikes. Due to the view, it can make a hell load of lag. Smooth Lighting makes life easier, it makes it less laggy. 6. Higher Java Priority. In Windows, go into the Task Manager and enter the tab Processes. Find javaw.exe and right click it. Then select Set Priority and make it High. On Ubuntu open up the System Moniter and navigate to Processes as well. Find java and click Priority. A slider should appear and make sure it is set at -20 (High). 7. Get a Texture Pack with Few Colours. I would strongly recommend the 16x16 or 32x32 texture packs. They are WAYY less laggier than the 64x64 ones. The texture pack that I recommend is SimpleCraft. It's simple and not as laggy as a few ones. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/98584-16x125-simplecraft-for-full-classic-v104/ 8. Close all other applications. Minecraft is a system hog, let it have some room. Close all your other stuff down and enjoy some simple MC. 9.Buy a better PC. This is an obvious choice for all of you. IF you don't have a good pc which is extremely slow by doing all of these steps, buy a new one. This is a recommended choice. You can buy a new one or just build one. 10. Razor Game Booster. This is really useful and helped me increase my FPS. This application is most likely for gaming. It's a huge help. http://www.razerzone.com/gamebooster/thankyou
Is it true that if you download Optifine, your Minecraft will be faster, but your computer will be slower? Good list tho GJ :D
Optifine is a really small file, I doubt this will make it your PC slower. If it's already slow, don't bother downloading it.
This is a really cool guide! I think you wonderfully pointed out some new ways I could make my Minecraft less laggy ^_^ Thanks so much. And this guide can be so helpful to a lot of people ;D
