Disclaimer: This is my first ever story. My English isn’t perfect, tell me spelling or grammar mistakes down below. Since almost everyone does it, here is my story: “The Fallen” Chapter I – The Cabin It was a cold, foggy November day. The coldness flowed through Tom’s body like blood does. Tom, well, he is a regular 14 year old boy. He walked away from home. His parents aren’t fair. He has a 4 square feet room, doesn’t get any pocket money and gets beaten for small mistakes. For example, he was slapped a few days ago because he misplaced a pillow a few inches on the couch. Everyday in school you could see the handprint or any other spot where you knew he was slapped. His girlfriend, Lily, is a year older, but they understood each other well. In school they got bullied. Why, you ask? It was because of the age difference. That’s why Lily broke up with Tom. Now she dates Tom’s brother, Dan. And, like most of the time, the two brothers can’t stand each other. On Tom’s trip through the cold forest, he couldn’t get Lily out of his head. What is she doing right now? Where is she? Who is with her? Questions Tom wouldn’t get an answer from. Suddenly, Tom saw a wooden cabin. It was empty, as Tom could see. The windows were broken, and the shards lay in the ground. It looks like a bomb just blew up here. Tom was very afraid, not aware what was going to happen. He took the chance. He wanted to prove how brave he is. So he went into the cabin. The door squeaked loudly. He didn’t think anything, he didn’t even dare to breathe. It was scary for him. He looked around. He saw old cupboards, wardrobes and broken shelves with books from the 1950s. He found “The Sentinel”, a short story from Arthur C. Clarke. Tom knew that Author from somewhere. He riddled and riddled and riddled. Then he remembered. Lily is a big Science-Fiction-Fan. “The Sentinel” is a story, which the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey” is based on. He never saw that movie. He thinks “Sci-Fi” is completely boring. Moving on, he found broken lamps and all that. He thought about his grandma. She had the same wallpaper, the same lamps and the same heater. Dan always called it “that huge box that is totally warm and stuff”. He stood there, lost in memories. Suddenly a blast of air closed the door. He was locked in the cabin now. Locked in a dark room. As a child, he always got paranoid in a dark room. At the window a girl popped up. He didn’t know her, but he thought she could help him. She opened the door and said: “Hehe, a little flurry closed the door. Don’t be afraid.” He couldn’t believe it. He thought she was a hero. Tom asked: “Thanks… Um.. Eh… My name is…. is…. Tom. What’s your name?”. She answered right away: “I’m Kathrine. Nice to meet you, Tom.” She added a little smile. Tom smiled too. He thought, she could be the one after Lily. He just stared at her. Kathrine said: “We’re not going to have a staring contest now, aren’t we?” Tom shook his head. “Why would we?” he asked. Suddenly, the floor cracked. Tom and Kathrine tried to get out of the cabin, unfortunately in vain. They fell into a big hole, with them the whole wooden floor from the cabin. They fell hard. It got dark. Very dark. Tom just felt a wooden plank falling on his leg. And then, he passed out. To be continued… It is kindly appreciated if you’d leave your feedback down below.
