Final Four is soon

Aye, JWD here. You may or may not have seen it, but I created a March Madness thread about two weeks ago. Well, now the tournament will be coming to an end soon. The Final Four is Monday, and the National Championship is Monday. There are two great match-ups, which should lead to an epic Championship game.

~ #2 Oklahoma vs. #2 Villanova

~ #1 North Carolina vs. #10 Syracuse

So, I'm very conflicted right now. North Carolina and Syracuse are my two favorite teams, and I honestly don't know who to root for. I'm a Carolina fan first, but Cuse has had an incredible run. The took down Dayton, Gonzaga, and Virgina. The Virgiania game was especially impressive. Down 16 at the half, Malachi Richardson sparked an incredible run that allowed Syracuse to come back. They are the first #10 seed in NCAA history to reach the Final Four. They play North Carolina, who has steamrolled their way to the Final Four. They beat Florida Gulf Coast in the first round, even though FGCU gave Carolina a scare in the first half, as UNC was only up by one at the half. The then beat Providence in the 2nd round, getting Kris Dunn in foul trouble early was the key to that win. They then picked up two very good wins against Indiana and Notre Dame. UNC won all 4 of those games by over 10 points. UNC will probably be Syracuse's toughest test so far. But, if Syracuse can win the rebounding battle, and stop North Carolina from making threes against their zones, they can definitely win.

Oklahoma vs. Villanova will also be a great matchup. Buddy Hield from Oklahoma might just be the next Steph Curry. They defeated CSU Bakersfield in the first round, following a win against VCU, which was one of the better #10 seeds. Their last two wins have been the most impressive, against Texas A&M and Oregon. Both of them were very good teams. Personally, I think Villanova is the weakest team in the Final Four. But they're nothing to sneeze at. They were the team to beat Kansas, who were considered by many to be the best team in the nation. I expected Villanova to take an early exit this year, but boy was I wrong. They also took down Miami, another very good team. Nova is a very good team, and this should be a very good matchup.

So, here are my predictions.

Final Four:

Oklahoma over Villanova, 92-85

UNC over Syracuse, 72-63

National Championship:

UNC over Oklahoma, 87-82

UNC over Oklahoma was my original prediction, and I see no reason to change it now. Both teams have fast-paced, high-octane offenses. It would make for a great championship game.
