Feminism (Here we go....)

A while back on a different forum, I was looking at a thread about feminism and stuff。Most of the replies were the same, "I believe in feminism women shouldn't be looked at like this blah blah blah..。"
I, being the person I am, just wanted to state my opinion, giving a different perspective on feminism。
Warning my opinion apparently sparked a huge flame war and I actually got warned, but that's besides the point。
Well, here goes nothing。
Keep in mind this is just my opinion, be free to say what you think。
I'll jump straight to it, I'm not a feminist。I don't support feminism and I don't want to really get involved in it。Now you might think "Aren't you contradicting yourself by making this thread?" And the answer is, kind of。All I want to do is get something straight because a lot of people contact me privately about what my "deal" is。
I don't support feminists mainly because of a point my brother brought up @YoshcraftMLG 。Why support equality of the genders, why not equality of the peoples? Equality for trans people, equality for gender fluids, equality for questioning equality for humans。Feminists kind of contradict themselves sometimes, which brings me back to me contradicting myself。Feminists also tend to have the attitude of acceptance。Most feminists aren't against the LGBTQ movements。Which is exactly why they contradict themselves。The definition of feminist is something along the lines of "Equality for both genders"。But some people don't even identify as a single gender, so feminists could be in the wrong。

Reason 2 why I don't support feminism- the hard truth。
We can't do anything。There, simple, I said it。Feminists and other females complain about the abusive treatment, rape, and catcalls。And I don't blame them, it's not right。But what can we do about it? If we tell them to stop, they won't stop。That's just how humans will be。Its the same with guns and gun violence。It's against the law to shoot another person with a gun。It's against the law to kill another person。Yet it still happens, daily。We can fight back against the men and their poor treatment, but can we really stop it?
A lot of people have listened to this statement, and said I'm a downer。 That's wrong。I'm not being a downer, I'm being realistic。
Feel free to state your opinion in the comments。But, please remember this is not a debate thread, or a thread meant to start a flame war。This is a thread meant to give you a different perspective。

I don't wanna be labeled as anything. I believe that everyone is equal, no matter your sex, gender, race, sexuality, nationality, and so on and so forth. I support human rights. I don't understand why people can't.. co-exist. Let others be themselves. I'm fine if you support feminism. I'm not gonna label myself as one if it seems I may be one. Not saying that it is bad to be one, I'm not for all of the labeling on myself.

I understand what it is like to be discriminated against as a women/girl, trust me. Yes, I do agree that women don't have the same exact privileges I guess, as men do. It's getting better everyday, and I find it annoying how far extremists take things.
Something that actually aggravates me is gender/sex roles. Like, boys are blue and girls are pink. Just a minor example. I really don't see the point in having that. People should be able to be whoever the fuck they want to. This topic ties into the subject at hand. Along with stereotypes of men and women, they aren't always true. Like I stated above, you should be able to do whatever you want. Both men and women go through things on any level, more one sometimes than another depending on the situation.
Not all feminists are bad/extremists. A lot of people think that if you're a feminist or support it, you're automatically an extremist. I believe in discussing and such in a peaceful manner. I don't plan on changing your opinion or anyone else's. I respect if you think the same thing I do or don't. I'm not sure what else to say, thought I'd say more but I guess that is it. :)

 

In my opinion, the only good feminists that existed were the suffragettes from the 20th Century. They actually did something that was needed for equality such as voting rights for both genders, etc. Feminists in general are fighting for a cause that's already been solved in the last century. I mean, sure some people do think females are inferior, but its not the whole world. I do agree with human equality for all people.

 

I agree with you, to be completely honest, if we're going to fight for something, it may as well be worth wile. Think about it this way, if somehow, we manage to get men to stop discriminating women, what would we have to argue for? The whole process would repeat itself. Except with men this time, and the things women do to men. That being said, it's cool that feminism exists, I'm just not a huge contender for it. Trust me, I know how hard women have it, but to the feminists that are all complaining about having to give birth and periods, let me say this.

Giving birth is your choice, (unless you are raped or something) but if you are complaining about giving birth to someone of YOUR CONSENT, you aren't really in a place to complain about it. For periods and stuff, sure, fine complain about it. But there's nothing men can do about it besides leave you alone and buy you chocolate.

Anyways, back to my original point, females and males ARE equal;, legally at least. We both have voting rights, we both have as much right to walk down the street as the other. Feminism is really about empowering women to stand up for themselves against discrimination, not really about equality, because we are already equal.

But that's just my opinion.

 

I find it ridiculous that Feminism is "The striving for equality of genders" whereas Masculinism is defined as "The striving for male dominance." Name it something else. Equality is fine, I like equality. Name it Equalism.
Because if Feminists think that they're going to get widespread support from the male population with a name like "Feminism," then they're on shrooms.
(Not to mention the female dominance feminists. That does a massacre of equalism as a whole. Seriously, people need to stop bigots and refer to it as Equalism, as the alternative is objectively wrong)

 

I'm not gonna say too much
But about the rape/abuse.
We've grown up in a society where the women is blamed for rape
"You shouldn't have been wearing that"
"She was asking for it"
Etc..
What I don't understand is that why should we accept that "humans will be humans" bullshit?
"If we tell them to stop they won't stop"
They should be taught growing up that this is not okay behavior.
But today's society doesn't teach that it teaches victim blaming and that's what feminists are trying to change they are trying to end rape culture and there's nothin wrong with that.
Also the way I see feminism is equality for minorities. Whether that be gender race sexuality it doesn't matter everyone deserves to be equal. It was named feminism because at first it was meant for women's rights. Now it has expanded and why should they change the name? Does it matter what the name is when the cause is right?
And feminism is trying to stop gender roles as well.
If you're a boy and like dolls play with them
If you're a girl and you like trucks go for it have fun.
If you're a boy and you want to wear a dress go ahead no one should stop you.

Exactly, all these rapist blame the women for their crimes! And some get away with it! Criminal lawyers are too effective, even if they're wrong. This is one of the biggest flaws in society.

 

I agree with you. Today only a few number of Feminists are aiming for women's rights, but the media makes it look like not all of them are going for the same goal. A LOT of women that call themselves "feminists" and the ones we usually see in our propaganda media today (yes, I believe almost all news is propaganda), are the ones that are psycho and crazy, like that one stupid lady who aborted her newborn baby because it was a boy and she believed that "men are such pigs in this world", and a lot of other women like that. But they aren't feminists, they just make themselves an excuse to be harmful to the opposite gender and get away with things. Why do people think Feminists are bad? The media makes them look bad, just like they made Muslims and Cuba look bad but they did nothing.

My opinion:

I do support fenimism in the way that women should have as much rights as men. In some countries, it is still unfair (e.g girls not being allowed to go to school, having to wear what their husband wants them to wear, etc.) And what if they don't respect these rules? Here's the jail for you, miss. I do find that really unfair, considering men can do whatever they want, as long as it isn't illegal. Women are sometimes being treated as animals in some countries, which I really hate and I find unacceptable.

But now, feminism is being taken too far.

Okay, I do agree that girls should wear what they want to wear.
But in the world where we are.
Men are here to show personallity, being romantic, in order to seduce girls.
Women are here to show personallity, and showing beauty.
As odd as it might sound, it is the truth, well as long as I've seen it.
And now, don't get me wrong. Girls should be allowed to wear what they wanna wear. But giving our opinion on a dress you don't really like = being mean and a feminism case? I'm sorry but that's too much.

And no, I'm not saying that in order to say feminism is bad. Feminism is good, I support it in a way, but it's kinda 50-50 for me, as some take it way to far.
