Factions: invisible, unhittable wither skeleton

I was mining quartz in the middle of nowhere and got killed by an invisible wither skeleton.

To make it worse, it grabbed my sharpness & knockback diamond sword and when I went back it killed me even faster. The annoying thing is that I can't hit it either, and the stuff I dropped is there but also invisible now.

I have it trapped in a castle. Is there any way that someone with invincibility can take a look?

 

Someone might've splashed a long invis pot on it. If you know where it is, splash healing potions on it.

Thanks, I'll give the healing potion a try. I am way in the middle of nowhere though, and I was AFK for an hour before I ran into it.

The reason I think it's a bug is that the stuff I dropped when I died was also invisible. My second time through I was able to pick up my stuff even though I couldn't see it, but then got ganked again right after I grabbed everything.

Maybe I can try a different texture pack too.

 

It probably is your textures, or MC rendering

 

Where were you when you're afk?
Are you sure it was a wither skeleton and not a player?

 

99.9% sure it isn't a player. I was way out near the edge of the Nether and every time it hit me I got the wither sickness. I can also hear the skeleton sound effect. Plus it was in the same spot in the morning after I logged out the night before. If this is a player, I want to know how to be invisible and unhittable -- that is a big advantage.

I've killed dozens with the same texture pack, and the problem survives logging in and out as well as the server restart.

When i do the texture pack test, I'll try connecting with 1.7 too, I have seen some bugs with 1.8 like the anvil & enchanting table so maybe this is similar.

Jack: When I was AFK I just enclosed myself in a 1x2 area against the wall of a lava well room, building a 3x2 wall that was 2 bricks high with netherrack (aka a quick way to run away for a bio break without getting killed). Luckily I did a sethome there at the same time.

After awhile I finally came back and when I left my safe spot the skeleton toasted me.

After this happened a couple times, I trapped it in the lava well room by putting 3 blocks of netherrack in each door 2 squares high, and I expanded my safe spot to go all the way across the lava well room wall -- but 3 bricks high with some 2-brick-high openings so I can get out but it can't get in -- same thing you would do with an enderman since wither skeletons are 3 blocks tall.

If 1.7 and a new resource pack don't fix it, I'll make a video.

 

OK it was something in my game client. My friend was able to see everything just fine. Time for a fun reinstall. Thanks!
