i have seen this a few times and i would want to know from people whether you think that it is right to publicly expose someone who tells you to "f*** off and die" or if someone hacks or scams. Personally i think that people on the server should be able to expose people who have broken server rules. I was tempted today to do it but was advised not to as it can end up in being banned
I personaly think we should but for some thing's bullying not so much but hacking and scaming we should so we can be cautious and try avoid them since after the hacker/scamer is banned we do not get our stuff back
Any form of harassment or rule breaking shouldn't be hidden. It only makes the server a better place.
If a person is cheating/bullying/etc, that is a job for the staff. That is what the report command is for. That is what the report thread is for. And there was a time when that forum was open to the public. Then they closed it for a reason. I do not know the reason, but most likely for people's privacy. So I do not think that it should be known to 500+ people that so and so told somone to kill themselves. Like I don't need to know that. And that person will get a ton of hate, I don't think we need drama on the forums it can all stay on the server.
As explained above, I don't think it'd be right to publicly bash them for things such as this. Hacking, scamming and any form of harassment can be reported; I don't see how publicly exposing them would resolve the situation.
Good point. but i sometimes think that a warning doesn't do anything when you just told someone to go and die. Then a warning says nothing
A warning from you is not going to do anything anyways, as I said before, that is what the staff is for.
So we should bully people for bullying us? Two wrongs dont make a right here. It would be hypocritical of us to harass someone because they harassed us.
I wouldn't say it is bullying to put a forum post explaining someone has been saying potentially horrible stuff to you
But that is none of our business. That is for staffs eyes and your eyes only. They don't need to open up a separate thread just to do exactly what the report thread and report commands are doing. So saying that you need or should expose somone for doing bad things to someone else is not a good enough statement in my opinion.
How about removing expose and putting in. Harsher punishments cause telling someone to f*** off you B**** gets a warning and then telling someone to die gets the same punishment as a warning
That's what already happens. That is the staffs job. If players are acting that way report it. And they will take care of it.
I am trying to say how is it fair for a person being told to go F*** off gets the same punishment as telling someone to go and die
That is the protocol for staff. Even though it may look worse than other comments the protocol is still the same. If you have any questions you can take it up with staff. It is not my place to tell you right from wrong. So for now, I am finished. :)
Definently not. I think you may need to watch this video. WARNING: It contains course language so adivse younger viewers not to watch this video. This may seem like it has nothing to do with this topic, but it has a fair bit of stuff in common. My opinion? I pernsonally think NO. BEING PUBLICLY EXPOSED JUST MAKES THE SITUATION WORSE. Ignore them, and tell a mod/ staff member. Have a good day/ night.
I've not read any of the responses, so I can just state what I think. I can get why you would want to expose someone for scamming, hacking, and being abusive. I really do, but you really got to think of some things. First of all, just report them if you see these players doing these types of acts. I am 100% sure the staff team want you to report the player other than talking crap about them/exposing them. Second, if these players actually did hack, then they are bound to already get in trouble. You don't need to call them out, when they are already facing a punishment. I've seen people expose others before, and it has mostly turned out bad for both sides. Don't stoop down to their level, and "expose" them, or even "call them out". It just makes the situation worse. A quote that I like to go by in these types of situations: Just let the staff team take care of the player, and enjoy your time on the server.
In all honesty, if you are gonna humiliate someone for telling you to die, you need to talk to someone and get out more. No offense.
