hii, it's tyler. I take part in the Endure4Kindness every year and this year I'm having trouble coming up with ideas for what I should do. If you don't know what E4K is, here's a link. http://www.randomacts.org/events/endure4kindness/ In simple terms E4K is a global endurance event. Participants are invited to pick an activity and invite their friends, family and members of the local community to pledge money. The more you do the more you’ll raise and the more acts of kindness you’ll help fund. In the past I either raised money by myself for certain charities or did it with a group from somewhere else in my state. This year I'd like to get my Key Club involved. I'm currently the VP of the club. I am super excited to take part in this fun event. So what I am asking you guys is help with ideas for what I am going to set up and do. Things like knitting hats/sweaters, doing drawings, and so on. It doesn't need to be a physical event, it could be anything. Be creative! If there's something you're passionate about, please tell me! And, I really do encourage taking part in it. If you can't that's fine, doing small random acts of kindness is enough. Thank you so much c:
I'm not very creative but I'm sure someone can help you. We had a random acts of kindness week at my school and it might be something you could look into organizing at your school and the proceeds could go to a local charity or something.
I like the idea of knitting stuff.. so Knitting blankets, hats and whatnot for the homeless people in different cities in your state would be really cool. And maybe putting together some food and personal hygiene for all of them. That would be great.
thank you guys! i think i almost have an idea and if you are going to be taking part in this; feel free to tell us what you're doing! So, lets get to what I'll be doing. The project that I would like to commit to is providing lap blankets for nursing home residents. The blanket could be any type of quilt, small blanket, or comforter that will provide the residents with a blanket to keep their legs warm when they are traveling to an activity, to their meal or when sitting in their recliner watching TV or resting. My plan is to ask for people to either donate a new or like new blanket. I also plan on inviting people to make an item and deliver to my home so that I can mark them with a residents name that will be receiving them. I’ll be accepting items from Friday, April 1st to Thursday, April 14th 2016. The 16th and the 17th I’ll be delivering blankets all day from 1pm to 8pm to area nursing homes. If you have any suggestions for what else I could do, please tell me! :)
