The island sounds killer, you think to yourself. You were emailed by your friend
telling you that he saw on the news that an island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean
was found and claimed by a Hollywood actor. They were granted the rights
to the entire island!, they said. This all happened a month ago,
but now you saw something on the news saying a resort was built on the island.
Just the place I needed, you think. And an odd coincidence, too.
But the pricing is affordable, even with the airline fees, so you decide
to do. And as you board the airplane to "Incustoditus Island", you are glad
you took the opportunity to go. You don't know much about the place, but
you did a little research on the climate there. You have a few pairs of clothing
(you are only staying for the weekend), your trust swiss army knife, and
your ID. Except the knife was taken away at security- nevertheless
you will have a great time!
But wait, on a counter nearby you see your swiss army knife. You
could choose to try to steal it back, since you are past security. It might
help later on the island. But it's a risk...

Spoiler: Board the airplane normally

You don't want to get in trouble, so you just
board the airplane. Once you are sitting in a seat, you are proud of your
decision. You have about an 8 hour flight ahead of you, so it is best to kick back
and relax, for now.
That is until you are awakened by a scream. You jolt awake.
You are at the back of the airplane; someone in front of you
pulled out a gun! He is threatening everyone to comply or be shot...
You feel a small sense of bravery, but that flame is quickly dampened
by your fear. He has his back turned, but if only you had tried
to go for your knife! But still- you could try to go for his gun!
It might be your only opportunity- he might just shoot everyone later
in some hostage-type situation. But is it truly worth the risk?

Spoiler: Attempt to disarm

You decide to be a hero. You get up,
wasting no time. Then you are running to him and jump on him- or tried to.
He heard you running and hit you in the chest with the butt of his pistol.
You feel an immense pain, and stagger backwards. Then he then he shoots you,
shoots YOU! It goes through the bottom part of your left leg, but you feel
that it missed the bone. You scream in agony. A man gets up from his
seat to help you, but one point at him with the gun and he sits back down.
Your leg hurts so much, that after half a minute, you pass out.
* * * * * * * * * *
You awaken in pain almost immediately. Someone tied a piece of cloth around
your wound, and probably cleansed it a bit, too. You feel the sand beneath you.
You try to lift your head up, but you are too weak. You hear some talking in the
distance, but it fades away as does your consciousness.
After awaking and falling back asleep a few times, you
finally reach a point where you stay awake. You try to sit up again, but
fail again. But you have enough strength to tilt your head. You must have
landed awhile ago. You see that you are on the edge of a beach
with miles of water in the distance. You tilt your head the other way. You see a giant
forest of land, but most closely a hotel. There was probably many
activities you could have done here, many things to do and see,
but that chance was now ruined.
You then see a bunch of windows shattered in the hotel. And blood
splattered in many different areas. Inside the open doors, you even
see some bodies. It looks like there are no survivors. The plane arrives back in
2 days, but you don't have the strength to go on. On the 2nd day, your
body is discovered and rushed back on the airplane. But because you
lost so much blood, doctors said it was a miracle you even
lived until then. The end.

Spoiler: Stay put

There was no way you could face someone with
a weapon, unarmed. So you stay put for the long ride to the island.
* * * * * * * * * *
The plane lands in the water, skimming the water until it finally
stops and floats. The man with the gun pushes you
out onto the island. You see are on an island with a gigantic forest and a
hotel right off of the beach you are standing on. You see that other
than the man with the gun, there are 12 other people.
He points to the hotel, signaling everyone to go in it.
Once he enters, he shoots the person at the desk! There might be other staff
here, and he might shoot every last one of them. This could
be your chance to stop him now- you could save more people.

Spoiler: Attempt to stop

It is worth it. You rush up to him,
the sounds of your shoes hitting the floor loud enough for him
to hear it. He turns around and shoots you. The shot lands between your
neck and shoulder; you instantly collapse. Even if you have one
breath of hope, he shoots you on the ground once more in the head. The end.

Spoiler: Don't take the risk

You watch painfully as one by one, the man shoots
every single person as staff. Then everyone, including you, are tied up
and propped against a wall. There are 13 of you
lined against the wall. He then goes outside to check out the surroundings.
But alas, if only you had your knife AGAIN! You could have gotten everyone
out of their ropes! But then the man comes back, explaining
this as a hostage situation. Then he makes a call to someone governmental,
explaining how they held captive 13 hostages at Incustoditus Island.
And then he says something about 12 hostages- the man pulls up
his gun and shoots the person 3 spots left of you. There is a hideous
scream, followed by the screams of everyone else. Then after talking
a bit, he shoots the person 2 spots from you and says "11." By this
rate, you would surely die. And the man again
leaves the room. There is nothing you can do since your
hands and legs are tied up. A ton of events happen, a standoff,
a shooting, but then the man comes back to us hostages. He
shoots the woman beside you, then shoots you. Maybe getting the knife
would have been worth it.

Spoiler: Try to take the knife back

You slowly move away from the
plane entrance and toward the counter. In airports there are tons
of security cameras, you think. But you successfully take the knife
and slip it into your pockets, unnoticed.
Back on the plane, you are satisfied that the risk payed off.
The knife could come in handy later. But right now,
you have several hours before you land at Incustoditus Island so
you decide to sleep it off.
That is until you are awakened by a scream. You jolt awake.

After some time, the plane lands in the water, skimming the water until it finally

Spoiler: Attempt to knife him

You run up to stab him. You
land a solid stab in his back, but then he turns around and shoots you
in the stomach. After a couple hours in pain you die, but your
attempt to stop him wasn't for nothing- he died later, but took down
over 3/4 of the people in that building.

Spoiler: Wait and watch

One by one, the man shoots
everyone in the building. Then he ties up all of you (13 in total).
Then he goes outside to survey the area for any more people. Quickly,
you go to the man next to you and whisper to him to reach
into your pocket and take the knife. He does so, and cuts the ropes of your hands.
You do the same to him. You are about to free everyone else when you here
the man coming back. You quickly tuck the knife behind you against the wall
and put your hands behind your back as if they hadn't been freed. The man
is here for a few minutes talking on the phone, then shoots the person
3 spots left from you. He then walks out, still talking to someone. This
is a hostage situation! Not wasting any time, you cut your leg ropes
and soon free everyone. Then you hear the man once more coming back.
You signal everyone to stay where they are while you creep by the
edge of the door. The moment of truth. The man comes
through the door, gun in hand. You stab him in the neck, reaching
as far as you can. He stumbles backward and shoots you at point-blank
range in your foot. You scream and fall against the wall, slowly sliding
to the ground. The man is killed, but you are awfully wounded.
The people who were previously sitting (finally) come to action,
helping you and your foot. In about an hour the navy and
some related troops come- but what they don't realize is that the
man is dead. You are rushed for immediate care while
the rest of the people are shipped off to safety. The dead bodies
are collected later. You are in an immense amount of pain,
but you are now under professionals. After everything is through, you
are honored as a hero, suffering a severe gunshot wound to the foot
and saving the lives of many people, though the ones who had already died
would forever be mourned. You foot feels better within a few months,
but overall you are satisfied with your actions and happy
that you saved the lives of those 11 hostages.

Spoiler: Attack him

You run up to him and backstab him. With
a shriek he falls to the floor, dead. You can't believe it actually
worked! People around you are cheering. Once you land at
the island, you are actually able to enjoy yourself. But once you get
back, it isn't the same. You are arrested for smuggling a knife
on board (captured by security cameras.) Plus, it is
found that you killed someone on board AND smuggled a gun too!
You are sentenced to a life of prison for planned murder and
attempted hostage- although the details aren't clear. That didn't
go well. The end.

I'll make this quick. I chose the board the plane normally route, and then chose to attempt to disarm. I can see that it didn't work out so well. So, I think this deserves a famous "gg".
