Warning! This is my opinion. Don't get your cockroaches in a twist! Hey what's up? Also if you're a fan of any cartoon animation and is very angered by what I'm about to say, please don't kill me and read the warning. =P To avoid the stereotype like the last time, I'm just gonna state this. By "Cartoon Animation" I mean an animation that most of the time uses pain to make you/kids etc. laugh. If there are cartoon animations that aren't using pain as something to laugh at, that's great! It's just the majority of what I've seen, most of cartoon animations use violence as a way of making the audience laugh. Let's head towards the classic, Tom and Jerry. Doing my short research for this thread, I found this video of Tom and Jerry that was made in 1948. During the video, Tom and Jerry put a something heavy and metallic inside of cat's body and started violently torturing him with a magnet pulling him everywhere. Maybe it's my humour... Maybe I don't understand why it is funny. But besides, the younger audience you show it to, you show it as funny. Violence=Funny. I never watched cartoons when I was younger, I'm kinda glad if I'm honest. Scrolling through the comments I found this wonderful comment. I did laugh a few moments, but why using pain and violence as something that is supposed to be laughed at? You're creating psychopaths! Unlike other animation, cartoon animation isn't "educative" as many people state it to be. I went to a website which is a poll asking whether or not cartoon animation is a bad influence on young audience. The majority said no, but it's almost perfectly split. Then there are responses from both sides and this wonderful message shown up: Using the same logic, you mean that from Tom and Jerry, Jerry isn't cool? And Tom isn't cool? Woah, also, violence as something not cool yet it's what you're supposed to laugh at. I suppose the cartoon animation teaches you to laugh at things that aren't cool? Interesting. But Tom and Jerry is old af, let's head towards something newer. Ladies and Gentlemen, greet Oggy and the Cockroaches! Their humour is exactly the same as Tom&Jerry's, but to the next level. I find the intro stupid and with bad influence. So there's Oggy, that goes down stairs happy as fuck. Then there's Dee Dee that licks his lips and opens him mouth and there's this green disgusting shit inside. Then there's Marky, who's a charismatic asshole I guess? And the last one who clearly didn't care and basically tells you to move on. Then there's everyone's favorite, Jack. No not that Jack, This Jack. End me. I didn't even succeed to reach the end of the episode because of how disgusting, stupid and painful that was. This is stupid shit and I want to die. The main resistance is the one I've been saving till last. Everybody, meet Masha and The Bear. The cartoon animation that will teach your kids that if your parent refused you something, you need to start crying to obtain what you want! Sounds like an amazing cartoon! So where do I start with the plot? Well, there's Masha. A walking life-ruining machine. Basically my younger sister. And there's the Bear. Who is a polite and good man. His life is amazing but then Masha visits him. He, as an adult, sometimes refuses to do some things for her. What does Masha do? Well she does what all Masha does best. And she screams. She doesn't get punished for anything. And despite her being younger, it seems like it's she who has the priority. And of course, pain is a thing in this cartoon too. This shit also manages to get Billions of views. We're downgrading as a species everybody! If you disagree with me, alright. But this isn't a mindless conclusion. And this is my opinion, doesn't mean you have to agree with me. I think that cartoon animation has an awful influence on a young audience. Using pain as something to laugh at... making kids look like they have priority... It's awful. So this is what I think of cartoon animation, what do you think? Do you think that I've made a few good points or that I just need to leave kids shows alone? Either way, tell me in your replies below. Also, if you know any actual cartoon animation that isn't using pain as a way to make you laugh, please leave links to them for me, I'd gladly watch them. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your pleasant day!
I loved Tom and Jerry as a kid, still do now, but the violence in that show is way less compared to others, but there's this really messed up episode where both commit suicide, that was the last episode of the Fred Quimby Tom and Jerry.
