1. Don't be a ricer. Body kits look dumb, and wings don't do anything but cause drag if you don't need downforce. 2. Short intakes aren't as great as people say. If your intake is right next to the block, it sucks in hot air. You want a longer intake farther from the block and even a heat shield if you want. 3. Don't do dumb camber. Just don't. If your wheels look like a Hotwheel that was stepped on, then you made a bad choice. 4. If you drive a truck, even with AWD, weighting your bed makes traversing ice safer because it reduces the chances of you fish tailing. 5. Choose the right transmission (if possible) for your needs. Automatic is easy, manual gives you more control of the vehicle, and a CVT (continuously variable transmission) usually gives you better fuel economy. Your gear ratio should also match what your needs are. 6. When researching a vehicle, look at past years as well. Know about previous mistakes the company made, keep your options open, and just because a vehicle looks nice doesn't mean it's worth much. I hope this entertains/informs you in future cars and modifications. Just remember the number one rule: Don't be a ricer.
